Hello from, well… you guys will find out soon enough. 😉 I’m enroute to Asia to fly Starlux Airlines, which I’m looking forward to. I changed my outbound trip to not route through mainland China, so stay tuned for the full details of this whirlwind review trip.

On the points & travel front, this week the Wuhan coronavirus caused quite some disruptions for travelers, we saw the launch of a new United credit card, a 140K bonus was launched on the IHG Premier Card, South African Airways scheduled the A350 on their New York route, the DOT proposed major restrictions on emotional support animals, and more.

With that out of the way, here’s a recap of this week on the blog:

Best In Business: ANA The Room Vs. Qatar Qsuites

Over the past several months we’ve seen some fantastic new business class products introduced, including from All Nippon AirwaysBritish Airways, and Virgin Atlantic.

Of those, I was particularly impressed by All Nippon Airways’ new 777-300ER business class, known as “The Room.” As of now this is only available on a very limited number of routes — currently you can find it to London and New York, and soon it will be available to Frankfurt.

Previously I’ve always said that Qatar Airways Qsuites is the world’s best business class, so how do the two products compare? I figured I’d take an in-depth look at that in this post.

Which Hotels Let You Earn Points & Elite Nights For Multiple Rooms?

Different hotel loyalty programs have different policies regarding how many points, elite qualifying stays, and elite qualifying nights you can earn if booking multiple rooms.

In other words, if you often travel with family and book two rooms, can you receive elite credits and points for each of the rooms?

The rules vary by program, so in this post I figured I’d look at the policies of the major hotel loyalty programs, as they impact earning points and elite qualifying credit for multiple rooms

Guess Ben’s location next. Is he in North Korea? He got a sweet deal on some Bonvoy points?

    Hey Lucky,

Glad you’re not routing through China anymore. Situation there seems dire. Given the update, I think it’s prudent to put an update on your article saying “you would still travel to China, but not Wuhan.”

It’s returning quite high on Google for some SFO health screening searches.

    Enjoy Asia!

    Still no MEA/Beirut trip reports?

Can you also turn on the feature which allows you to click on the blue banner in the title containing the number of comments and being able to jump to them? Sometimes I like to come back to a post and only see the comments. Just wondering, why was that turned off?

Just to follow up on what I've been suggesting for future reviews, but it'll be really helpful to do a speedtest when using WiFi and posting a screenshot of the results as describing the connection would be vague and everybody has a different opinion on what would be ideal to them.

    @Lucky @Tiffany

There have been quite a few comments recently about this, we all don't like how the images only load until we scroll.

Please bring back the old way where all the images load at once when we click on a page.

The new way makes reading trip reports difficult.

    Thanks so much!

@ Markus -- We hear you! It's interesting, because we turned the lazy loading on in October, but it's only been in the past week or so that anyone has said anything.

I changed the settings to be "less lazy", while still keeping the site fast overall. Hopefully this is a better experience, but we can certainly keep adjusting!
