How is it October already?!?

This week was spent on a whirlwind trip to London, where several blog readers and I saw One Direction at the O2 Arena. Even though it was a quick trip, we had a great time, and really lucked out with the weather.

Dear Virgin Atlantic: Please Get Rid Of Your Onboard Bar

Virgin-Atlantic-Bar-1I love Virgin Atlantic.

And I love onboard bars.

But the current seating arrangement and execution is borderline painful, particularly if you’re in the last three or four rows of the business class cabin.

I’m trying to take a bit of time away this week with my special someone, then am meeting up with Andrew B and Tiffany in Dubai. We booked a great fare earlier in the year, and it should be a fun few days of flying.

What is everyone else up to this week?

Enjoy some well-deserved time off, Ben!

I'm flying to Oslo next week, then to Helsinki. I'll fly the Finnair A350 on its 3rd commercial flight!

Other than that, not much exciting planned until December/January, when I have Chicago and Hong Kong on my to-do list :D

    Hi Ben,

I would really appreciate your advice on this issue:

About 5 weeks ago I booked 2 Delta One tickets EWR-ATL-MCO (same day), the next day I received an e-mail from DL saying that my itinerary had changed, and I would be eligible for another free change if this new itinerary would not be convenient for us. Hi Ben,

About 5 weeks ago I booked 2 Delta One tickets EWR-ATL-MCO (same day), the next day I received an e-mail from DL saying that my itinerary had changed, and I would be eligible for another free change if this new itinerary would not be convenient for us. When I checked online the flight number had changed and the departure time was 15min earlier, no big deal for us.

Last week I decided to add our FlyingBlue numbers instead of Skymiles and noticed that for the first leg we were downgraded from First to Business. I called Delta because I was not happy with the uncompensated downgrade. The agent said that there is no D1 service on that particular flight, but we would have the same seats and service in Business as in DL1 on the booked flight... to me this sounds like BS!? Since both my partner and I are tall (6'4 & 6'6), we really need the extra legroom. But according to Seatguru DL does have NOT Business Class seats on their MD80's so we are worried that they will place us in Premium Economy.

I requested to change again without additional costs, preferably direct EWR-MCO. Apparentely that was not possible since the change affected us les than 90 minutes. As a European I'm not familiar with American laws, so I have no idea what my rights are in this case. Would you please be so kind to share your insight?

    Best Regards,
    Leo
