Hello from Miami! I spent last weekend in St. Kitts, and have had a mostly quiet week with family celebrating Thanksgiving (happy Thanksgiving to all those in the US). I’m happy to be on the ground for a bit, but am excited for my next trip, which will be to Bora Bora in about a week.

On the points and travel front, this week we saw lots of programs offer new promotions on purchased miles, LifeMiles launched an award sale, Barclays introduced a new Arrival Plus 70K welcome bonus, we saw some great Black Friday promos, and more.

With that out of the way, here’s a recap of this week on the blog:

Impressions Of The Park Hyatt St. Kitts

I just wrapped up a four night stay at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts. This property just opened last year, and I know a lot of you have either already stayed here, or have upcoming stays at the hotel.

As many Hyatt loyalists can attest to, it’s nice to have a luxury points property so close to the US, which is likely why there’s so much interest in the hotel. Oh, and the hotel also had one heck of a promotion shortly after opening.

So while I’ll have a full trip report soon, in this post I wanted to share my initial impressions of the hotel.

The 22 Credit Cards In My Wallet Right Now

It has been nearly six months since I’ve shared my full credit card inventory, so I figured it’s time for an update.

I think this is especially useful given how many new credit cards we’ve seen introduced lately. Interestingly I have roughly same number of credit cards I had over six months ago, though in the process I’ve applied for a few new cards, and have also canceled a couple of cards.

In this post I wanted to first share a brief intro regarding how applying for credit cards impacts your credit score, then I’ll talk about what goes into my credit card decision making process, and then I’ll share the cards I have open.

LifeMiles’ Star Alliance Award Sale (Including First Class Redemptions!)

LifeMiles is one of the most useful frequent flyer programs out there, in my opinion, given that they frequently sell miles at a discount, and have great award redemption rates.

So they’re often my go-to program for booking premium cabin Star Alliance awards.

At the moment LifeMiles is offering a discount on award redemptions, and you can even fly first class between the US and Asia for as little as 72,000 miles one-way, which is incredible.
