Qatar Airways’ First A350-900 With Qsuites Will Be Flying Shortly

The first plane to feature Qatar Airways’ excellent Qsuites business class was the 777-300ER, and the product debuted between Doha and London as of June 2017. As far as I know, there are now seven 777-300ERs flying with these seats, and over the next 18 months Qatar Airways hopes to reconfigure their entire 777 fleet with these seats.

The next plane to get Qsuites is the A350-1000, for which Qatar Airways is the launch customer. They took delivery of the world’s first A350-1000 just a few days ago, and it features 46 Qsuites. They started flying that plane between Doha and London today as well, and we should see it available on more routes soon.

Now there’s a third aircraft type getting Qsuites, if we’re going to be specific. At the same time that Qatar Airways took delivery of an A350-1000, they also took delivery of a further A350-900. Qatar Airways already has many of these planes in their fleet, and up until now they feature an excellent reverse herringbone product.

However, the A350-900s remaining to be delivered (there are 18 of them) will be delivered to Qatar Airways featuring the new Qsuites. So that’s another plane that we can look forward to having the Qsuites on.

It looks like Qatar Airways has scheduled their first Qsuites flight for their new A350-900 as well. Qatar Airways’ A350-900s will feature 36 Qsuites in business class, which means they’re maintaining the capacity of 36 business class seats, as that’s the same number of seats they have right now (as a matter of fact, capacity on the entire plane is staying flat).

While many airlines reduce the size of business class cabins as they introduce new cabins, that’s not the case at Qatar Airways, as they’re introducing business class cabins that are at least as large as they used to be.

It would appear that the first flight for which Qatar Airways has scheduled the A350-900 with Qsuites is QR1/2 on March 2, 2018, though it’s entirely possible that there’s another flight scheduled with the plane before then (thanks to G-CIVC on FlyerTalk for finding this). I’m sure they’ll consistently fly the plane on a certain route at some point, though I don’t see it permanently scheduled yet.

It’s great to see more and more planes with Qsuites.

  1. I hope they use more of these seats in flights to the west coast and expand their network to SFO. Passengers on these ultra-long flights need these great seats more than others.

  2. Very impressed w QR rollout schedule. Can’t wait to fly w them again. Was already the best biz experience I’d had (out of about 20 airlines) – so the Qsuite is just icing on the cake.

  3. ditto @woofwoof: we don’t care which aircraft, just tell us when Q-SEATS
will be avail from LAX or LAS.
ask your buddies at QR who authorize all the freebies.

  4. I’ve booked to Muscat to JFK in June QR701 with Qsuites! can’t wait!
Return in July in on QR704, not showing Qsuites 🙁
What are the chances that it will be upgraded by July?
