Orosius New MemberI will complete a Plat Exec challenge with AA on December 7. I need to fly to China in mid-January. If I purchase the ticket now, will I be able to change seats to Main Cabin Extra and request an upgrade with SWU’s once I receive the status in mid-December? If I have to wait for status before booking, I’m concerned that price and availability could be much worse. Thanks

Yep, that’s fine. Upgrades clear based on when they were requested, but for China in January you should still be okay.
