Would EVA business class get lounge access at IAD for a 1:15 AM departure? All lounges at IAD seem to close at 10 pm, which is more than 3 hours before EVA's scheduled departure time for certain dates.
sadly you wont have any lounge to access....the partner lounge for EVA is AF lounge...they close at 2130.....so i would make your time at IAD short and not arrive too early....
@isaacc Reminds me of JFK T8 for their after-midnight departures (think, QR, CX, JL, etc.) They stagger the lounge closings (Chelsea, Soho by like 11PM, then Greenwich closer to 1AM), so you have to do shuffle between them, if you've got a 2AM departure. It's interesting because other terminals at JFK handle it differently (like, in T4, the Capital One lounge is 24/7, so that's a winner, no matter when you're flying out.) Unlike some overseas airports, US ones are rarely open 24/7 (this ain't DOH, SIN, DXB, HKG, etc.) Further irony is NYC is the 'city that never sleeps' but apparently most of our area airports need their beauty rest.
@1990_ Well i cant tell you how many times i had to wander YYZ T3 after plaza premium closes at 2200 and my Porter flight to Ottawa is always late....leaving past 0100 a lot of time.....
Toronto YYZ is probably the worst airport out there....id take JFK, heathrow and even FRA over YYZ....what a shit show of an operation there on every level.
@isaacc Oof. 1AM! That said, I'm a huge fan of Porter (and their racoon mascot); fan of the 'no middle seats'; I wish they had lounges; I recall there was a little snack area at Billy Bishop (YTZ), but I think they removed the complimentary stuff. Bah!
@1990_ I certainly love porter over AC. But the biggest issue is bathrooms on the e295. I’ve had a few trans cons that had one inop or both. I will rebook than experience that again.
@isaacc I’d seen some Reddit posts concerning those! (YYZ-LAX, YYZ-SFO, YUL-YVR, YYZ-YVR) I guess it starts to fill-up at the end. Maybe they’re serving too much Moosehead on-board! (Actually, not a bad lager.)
Those past midnight IAD flights are brutal! There will be a few stores open at that time but like isaacC said, there won't be any lounges open. Why they can't keep any open to even 11:00 is beyond me...
