How to reserve preferred seats before payment of ticket.

URGENT
I want to book a flight from Istanbul to Bangkok (via Doha) with Qatar Airways in business class.
As I am flexible on dates of departure I would like to reserve preferred seats. How can I find out which flights are more booked than others before payment of the ticket.
I guess the online booking procedure will not reveal available seats UNTIL I have paid.

ExpertFlyer or using a GDS. I use Sabre to check this stuff usually.
