The Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card is my favorite no annual fee Capital One credit card. Despite the lack of an annual fee, the card has a great rewards structure, no foreign transaction fees, and some awesome benefits with Uber.

On the surface this is a cash back card offering 3% cash back in major spending categories. However, in conjunction with the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card (review), rewards earned on this card can be converted into Venture miles at the rate of one cent per mile. This means that the no annual fee card could earn you up to 3x Venture miles, which is awesome.

Let’s go over everything you need to know about this card, from the welcome bonus, to the rewards structure, to the Uber benefits, to the ability to earn Capital One miles.

SavorOne Card Welcome Bonus Of $200 Cash Back

The Capital One SavorOne is offering a welcome bonus of $200 cash back after spending $500 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. That’s a solid bonus for a no annual fee card that’s rewarding in the long run, and on top of that there’s a very reasonable spending requirement to earn the bonus.

This bonus is available to those who don’t currently have and haven’t had the card in the past. Eligibility for the bonus is independent of whether you have other Capital One cards, and Capital One’s general application restrictions apply.

SavorOne Card Has No Annual Fee

The Capital One SavorOne has no annual fee, not for the primary cardmember, and not for authorized users. You can’t beat a card with a solid rewards structure that doesn’t have an annual fee.

Also keep in mind that holding onto cards long term and making payments on-time is good for your credit, so there’s value to holding onto cards like this, even if you don’t end up using them all that much.

SavorOne Card Rewards Structure

One of the main reasons you should want the Capital One SavorOne is because of the rewards structure. The card offers anywhere from 1-3% cash back, depending on the category, with no caps on the earning. Let’s go over the details of that.

Earn 3% Cash Back On Dining

The Capital One SavorOne offers 3% cash back on dining, making it among the best cards for dining spending. Capital One defines dining as including purchases at restaurants, cafes, bars, lounges, fast food chains, and bakeries.

Earn 3% Cash Back At Grocery Stores

The Capital One SavorOne offers 3% cash back at grocery stores, making it among the best cards for supermarket spending. Capital One defines grocery stores as including purchases at supermarkets, meat lockers, freezers, dairy product stores, and specialty markets. Superstores like Walmart and Target are excluded.

Earn 3% Cash Back On Entertainment

The Capital One SavorOne offers 3% cash back on entertainment. Capital One defines entertainment as including purchases at movie theaters, sports promoters, theatrical promoters, amusement parks, tourist attractions, aquariums, zoos, dance halls, record stores, pool halls, and bowling alleys.

Earn 3% Cash Back On Popular Streaming Services

The Capital One SavorOne offers 3% cash back on popular streaming services. Capital One includes Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, in this category.

Earn 1% Cash Back On All Other Purchases

For non-bonused categories, the Capital One SavorOne offers 1% cash back on all purchases. There are ultimately going to be better cards for non-bonused spending, so what really adds appeal to the card is the bonus categories.

Pay No Foreign Transaction Fees

The Capital One SavorOne has no foreign transaction fees, which is a noteworthy feature for a no annual fee card. Many people are looking for a good card to use abroad without paying an annual fee, and this card is excellent in that regard.

You can even qualify for the 3% bonus categories while abroad, given that for many people, a lot of travel spending is on things like dining and entertainment.

SavorOne Card Uber & Uber Eats Perks

Thanks to a partnership between Capital One and Uber, those with the Capital One SavorOne can receive some phenomenal perks. Specifically, they can receive 10% cash back on Uber rides, plus a complimentary Uber One membership. These are some unbelievably good perks for a no annual fee card, and for many this should be more than enough reason to pick up this card.

Earn 10% Cash Back With Uber & Uber Eats

Between November 15, 2022, and November 14, 2024, the Capital One SavorOne is offering 10% cash back on purchases with Uber and Uber Eats. There’s no registration required — just set your eligible Capital One card as your default payment method with Uber or Uber Eats, and you’ll automatically receive 10% cash back in the form of statement credits with your eligible card.

Receive A Complimentary Uber One Membership

Those with the Capital One SavorOne can receive a complimentary Uber One membership valid through November 14, 2024.

To access this complimentary Uber One membership, those with the Capital One SavorOne should enroll in an Uber One monthly membership in the Uber or Uber Eats app. Once you set your eligible Capital One card as the form of payment for the Uber One membership, you’ll automatically receive a monthly statement credit through the end of the offer period.

An Uber One membership ordinarily costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year, and offers the following perks:

  • 5% off eligible rides and orders of food, groceries, alcohol, and more
  • Being matched with top-rated drivers
  • An Uber One Promise, whereby on eligible deliveries you’ll get $5 in Uber Cash if the latest arrival estimate (shown after the order is placed) is wrong
  • Unlimited $0 delivery fees on eligible food orders over $15 and grocery orders over $30
  • Access to premium member support, special offers and promotions, and invite-only experiences

Trick: Convert SavorOne Cash Back Into Venture Miles

Here’s an interesting angle with the Capital One SavorOne. While this is technically a cash back card, you can convert the rewards earned on this card into miles in conjunction with a card earning Venture miles, including the Capital One Venture X. The transfer can be done directly through your Capital One account, and there are so many great uses of Capital One miles.

One point of frustration people have with Capital One is that the travel rewards cards don’t have many bonus categories. The Capital One Venture X offers 2x Venture miles per dollar spent, which is the best return on everyday spending you’ll find on any card, by my valuation.

If you paired the $395 annual fee Capital One Venture X with the no annual fee Capital One SavorOne, you’d earn:

  • 10x Venture miles on hotels booked through Capital One Travel
  • 10x Venture miles on rental cars booked through Capital One Travel
  • 5x Venture miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel
  • 3x Venture miles on dining
  • 3x Venture miles on grocery stores
  • 3x Venture miles on entertainment
  • 3x Venture miles on streaming services
  • 2x Venture miles on all other purchases

That’s a phenomenal credit card duo, if you ask me. For those looking to get into the Capital One mileage ecosystem, I think this is an exciting opportunity.

Is the Capital One SavorOne Worth It?

There are two ways to consider the value proposition of the Capital One SavorOne — you can look at the value of the card independently, or you can look at the value of the card in conjunction with the Capital One Venture X.

Independently I think the Capital One SavorOne could be an attractive option for many types of consumers:

  • Having a card with no foreign transaction fees that earns 3% cash back in categories like dining, grocery stores, and entertainment, is pretty awesome; however, I wouldn’t recommend using this card for non-bonused spending, since you can do better than 1% cash back on those purchases, with a card like the Citi® Double Cash Card (review)
  • Personally I like earning travel rewards rather than cash back for my credit card spending, since I can get outsized value that way; however, knowing how to redeem miles efficiently takes some work, and not everyone finds that to be worthwhile
  • The Uber and Uber Eats benefits here are huge, as you can receive 10% cash back on these purchases, and can also receive a complimentary Uber One membership for up to two years

In conjunction with the Capital One Venture X, I think the Capital One SavorOne is a slam dunk combination:

While my priority would be applying for the Capital One Venture X if I didn’t already have it, given the much bigger bonus and overall compelling value proposition, I’d definitely consider the SavorOne to be an important part of a long term strategy for maximizing rewards with Capital One.

The Uber benefits being offered by the SavorOne are enough for me to want to apply for this card.

Having the card can super charge the travel rewards you earn

Bottom Line

The Capital One SavorOne is a no annual fee card that offers 3% cash back on dining, grocery stores, entertainment, and streaming services, all with no annual fee. On top of that, through November 14, 2024, the card is offering 10% cash back with Uber and Uber Eats, plus a complimentary Uber One membership. In and of itself that could easily make this card a no-brainer.

However, personally I think the most interesting angle is pairing the card with the Capital One Venture X. If you have both cards then you can convert cash back into Venture miles at the rate of one cent per mile. This essentially means that the SavorOne could offer the equivalent of 3x Venture miles in the above categories (and 10x Venture miles with Uber and Uber Eats), which is pretty awesome.

If you have the Capital One SavorOne, what has your experience been? Anyone use the card to earn travel rewards rather than cash back?

Just wanted to add, the Savor One gives you 8% cash back when booking entertainment through their portal! Venture X and SavorOne is a no-brainer. Cap One is trying hard to be the best in the business, I predict you're going to see a lot of interesting new things (such as this uber partnership) in the coming years.

I also applied and was declined for the bonus. I was approved for the card, without the new card bonus. Went through the application process, submitted and then the screen showed that I was approved for the card but declined for the bonus. I was given the option to accept or decline the card.
I do have the venture x card.

  3. Raulf New Member

Just applied but was surprised that I got declined for the bonus. They only approved me with no SUP attached.

@ Raulf -- Wow, I've never heard of that before. May I ask at what point you were told you weren't eligible for the bonus? And what's your history with Capital One applications in recent years?

    2. Eric Guest

Lucky, it is another card called "SavorOne Rewards for Good Credit". All the perks and annual fee are exactly the same as regular SavorOne, but does not come with SUP.

SavorOne/SilverOne/VentureOne all have their no SUP version credit card. If you are not approved for the one with SUP, sometimes it will offer you the "Good Credit" version as pre-approved offer. I believe they are two sperate credit cards though.

I was denied the $200 SUB as well, but was given the choice to accept approval without the SUB. I accepted because they had already done a hard pull and I believe the message said that the offer was good for 40 minutes.

    Thank you for this!
