Modifying old BA awards

Modifying old BA awards

  1. Anonymous Guest

Before the devaluation of BA miles I booked two R/T business tickets from JFK – Berlin for late March.

    1. Can I change the dates of the trip w/o paying the new mileage requirements? Just whatever fees they have.
    2. If I wanted to change the origin/dest cities will the new (higher) requirements kick in? (I’m assuming so.)

    Thanks
    Rich

Rich it may depend on the complexity of the changes. Most of the time if your award needs to be redeposited you are going to end up paying the new award rates.

There seem to be a couple of data points here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/04/21/one-week-until-the-ba-avios-devaluation-heres-what-to-book-now/ that suggest changes might be possible at the old rates. Probably worth a call to check.
