Mixed cabin KrisFlyer partner award

Mixed cabin KrisFlyer partner award

  1. Anonymous Guest

Hi! I’m flying SQ SYD-SIN-ICN-SFO in a couple weeks, and I need to complete the itinerary from SFO-DFW. However, I’m currently F on SQ, and there are no F or J partner seats available from SFO-DFW. SQ says they cannot book me in economy, that it needs to be the same cabin class, or it needs to be a completely different ticket. I’d already moved over the necessary 17k points to accomodate my wife and I’s return to DFW. Any help?

I;m not sure what their rules are so I can offer any advice except to call back and see if a different agent will provide a different answer. However, I’m curious as to whether you called and asked about this before transferring points and if you considered a purchasing a separate ticket instead for that final leg, instead of adding to the SQ award.

I did call back and learned that I was within my rights to do the added leg. However, now the issue is that there are no seats available within SQ’s 4 hour window rule. If you’re not familiar, on a domestic award flight in the States, all connections must be made within 4 hours. With regards to purchasing a separate ticket, it’s something like 90k miles to get another award ticket, per person, if I recall, or 17k to add on for both of us. In the interim, I just booked $50 AA tickets to get us home. I’m willing to risk losing $100 if I find a better option later.
