How to get Platinum status after being gifted Gold

How to get Platinum status after being gifted Gold

  1. Anonymous Guest

A generous friend has Diamond status on Delta. They have gifted me Gold status. Is it possible for me to accumulate another 25K MQMs, get the Delta Platimum SkyMIles MQD waiver and then reach Delta Platinum status?

A generous friend with Diamond Medallion status has gifted me Gold Medallion status on Delta. I was already Silver Medallion. I am wondering if I reap another 25K MQM’s this year and acquire the Delta MQD waiver after spending 25K+ on my Delta Platinum SkyMiles card, would I reach Platinum?

You’d need to earn the full 75k MQMs to reach Platinum. Being gifted Gold status does not equate to being gifted 50k MQMs.

You’re also ineligible for a status challenge given that you were gifted Gold status.
