Cathay Pacific, Throwaway Legs and HKG Lounge Access

Cathay Pacific, Throwaway Legs and HKG Lounge Access

  1. Anonymous Guest

Hello. Before the devaluation, booked a Cathay first class from SFO to HKG with a connecting business class flight to KUL on Malaysia Air. I no longer want to take the second leg (which should not deny my entry into Hong Kong proper) but I would like to enjoy the business class lounge access at HKG by booking a connecting flight to KUL via SIN (on CX) in business class. Will I be able to gain entry into the business class lounge(s) using this method? Also, one layover option is ~2 hrs and the other is ~7hrs. Can (should?) I enjoy the food, alcohol and amenities of the multiple lounge options for the short or long period and then enter Hong Kong? Any unique rules about HKG and immigration I should be aware of if I attempt to do this?

    Thanks,
    Nick Reid
