Best airline is Delta?

Best airline is Delta?

1. Anonymous Guest

Dear Lucky,
I keep reading – not just from your website, but you’re the “lucky” one with an Ask Lucky tab – that Delta is the best of the big three. It almost seems to be a chant, not an issue open to debate. Now, I have no more problem with Delta than United or American. But I don’t see Delta as any better, either … even perhaps a little more hostile to their elites than the other two. Can you explain why so many Delta fans? Or maybe point me to an article?
Thanks!
Peter.

There’s a difference between the airline operation and it’s treatment of elites. Delta is a fantastic airline, operationally. Their loyalty program isn’t as great. However, compared to the loyalty programs of AA and UA, it’s not that bad either.

+1 to what @David W mentioned. I think operationally, there’s no question. Also, their service is very consistent.

Nick did a post on this a while back. The article itself is a good read, but if you’re curious for more examples, take a peak at some of the comments.
