ANA fuel surcharges are back

ANA fuel surcharges are back

  1. thebigguy New Member

Some time ago I booked ANA awards between D.C. and Tokyo through Virgin Atlantic and the carrier-imposed surcharges were $2.00 (YQ). Yesterday I made changes to the reservation that resulted in a recalculating of fees, and now the surcharge is $172 round-trip! The total taxes and fees came to about $250 per person as opposed to approximately $85 beforehand. Not a good change, for sure.

On the plus side, upgrading from coach to business (YQ unaffected, I checked ITA Matrix) on the same date did not incur change fees. You win some, you lose some.
