World of Hyatt has a cool partnership with MGM Rewards, allowing World of Hyatt members to earn and redeem points for stays at MGM properties in Las Vegas. In addition to that, World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards offer reciprocal status matching, which offers valuable perks, including potentially waived resort fees.
If you’re headed to Las Vegas anytime soon, World of Hyatt has just launched a promotion that makes MGM stays even more lucrative.
In this post:
World of Hyatt promo for MGM stays
Between July 13 and October 15, 2022, World of Hyatt members can earn double World of Hyatt points for eligible spending at participating MGM properties in Las Vegas.
World of Hyatt members ordinarily earn 5x World of Hyatt base points per dollar spent, so during this promotion they’ll earn an additional 5x World of Hyatt points, for a total of 10x points. This doesn’t include elite bonuses (up to 30% for Globalist members), credit card bonuses, etc.
Registration is required to take part in this promotion, and you need to be a member of both World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards to be eligible. Participating properties for this promotion include the following:
- ARIA
- Bellagio
- Delano
- Excalibur
- Luxor
- Mandalay Bay
- MGM Grand
- New York New York
- NoMad
- Park MGM
- The Mirage
- The Signature at MGM Grand
- Vdara
Bonus points should post to your account within two to three weeks of an eligible stay.
Sadly World of Hyatt doesn’t have a global promotion
It’s a bit ironic that currently you’ll earn more World of Hyatt points staying at an MGM property than staying at a Hyatt property. That’s because World of Hyatt hasn’t had a global promotion since April 20, 2022. Historically World of Hyatt has had a summer promotion, but with leisure travel demand as high as it is, I suspect it was determined that there just wasn’t an ROI to incentivizing stays further.
I’m guessing Las Vegas bookings look a bit softer than usual over the next few months, which is likely why we’re seeing this promotion. Presumably it’s largely MGM throwing money at this offer.
There are lots of other ways to earn World of Hyatt points without actually staying at hotels. In addition to being able to earn World of Hyatt points with the World of Hyatt Credit Card (review) and World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (review), you can also transfer over points from Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Bottom line
World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards have partnered to offer a promotion for hotel stays this summer and fall. World of Hyatt members who register can earn double points for stays through October 15, 2022. It’s just too bad that World of Hyatt doesn’t have a global promotion right now.
Do you plan on taking advantage of this World of Hyatt promotion for MGM stays?
@Martinplas book at MGM, give your Hyatt number on booking and at check-in, where staff will confirm that resort fees will Be removed. It has been working smoother than smoothly for me all year.
I booked on the MGM website and gave them my Hyatt number when I checked in.
I ve read the T&C and it gives no info on this promotion being useful if you are a Hyatt member and book directly at Aria where the rates are cheaper than on the Hyatt website.
For this promo to apply does it have to be booked directly on the Hyatt website or can you book on MGMs site and give your Hyatt membership number?
I received both Hyatt points and MGM Rewards points for my May 2022 stay at Aria.
Would you get Hyatt points OR MGM Rewards points or both?
You get both.
