I guess this utterly uninspiring promo means that they haven't yet felt any financial backlash from their recent series of devals. In due time. The thing is, for a smaller chain like Hyatt, once they do want to course correct, it won't be as easy to win loyalists back.
They need to fix the supply side of points earnings with stays. These devaluations make points earning via stays very uncompetitive. If they do further push globalist benefits into milestone rewards it'll really make free agency look great next year.
Feels very Bonvoy of them to do this…

My sense is that they're probably feeling a little bit of heat over the devaluation, but this is still pretty weak sauce as promos go.

I was a Globalist when it was worth it and they gave 75,000 points for their summer promos. Not 8000 which after all the devaluations are worth less than 4000 in old money.
Totally worthless and I now just book OTAs without any brand allegiance.

You literally can't get anything for 8000 Hyatt points anymore. This is a joke compared to the old days when 75,000 in a summer promo gave you 3-4 nights at the Park Hyatt
I have a couple of stays coming up at PH properties. I wonder if stays booked through an agent via Privé count as "booked through Hyatt," not that it much matters - 2,000 points will yield a ~30-minute stay at the PH Tokyo.

lol, the timing of this is beyond annoying.
I have an upcoming stay in July for 4 nights. I also had a stay that ended yesterday (June 21-22). If yesterday's stay had been one day later, I would qualify for this promo already.
Hyatt points are not worth 1.5 cents. Ben, please update your valuation. Might male a good blog post.
For those of us with free night certificates, it seems Hyatt is no longer allowing us to trade in expired certificates for 10,000 to 20,000 points anymore (cat 1-4 or 1-7). They will give a one time credit of 5000 points, and otherwise if your free night certificate expires, you are out of luck. To clarify I’m referring to free nights earned through Hyatt stays, not through credit cards.
