World of Hyatt has a cool partnership with M Life Rewards, allowing World of Hyatt members to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points for MGM stays.

Stays at select MGM properties accrue points at the same rates as normal Hyatt properties, and you’re also eligible for elite nights when staying at these properties.

Well, if you’re headed to Las Vegas anytime soon, Hyatt has just launched a new promotion for MGM stays, which has the potential to be lucrative.

Earn Double Hyatt Points On MGM Stays

Between September 19 and December 28, 2019, World of Hyatt members can earn double World of Hyatt points for eligible spending at participating M Life Rewards properties in Las Vegas.

That means members are earning 10 World of Hyatt points per dollar spent, before factoring in elite bonuses, credit card bonuses, etc.

Registration is required to take part in this promotion, and you need to be a member of both World of Hyatt and M Life Rewards to be eligible. Participating properties for this promotion include the following:

  • ARIA Resort and Casino
  • Bellagio Las Vegas
  • Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay
  • Excalibur Hotel and Casino
  • Luxor Hotel and Casino
  • Mandalay Bay
  • MGM Grand Hotel and Casino
  • New York New York Hotel and Casino
  • Park MGM Las Vegas
  • The Signature at MGM Grand
  • The Mirage Hotel and Casino
  • Vdara Hotel and Spa

Bonus points should post to your account within two to three weeks of an eligible stay.

Stack This With Hyatt’s Current Promo

This new promotion can be stacked with Hyatt’s current global promotion, offering triple points at Hyatt Place properties, and double points at all other properties, starting with your second stay.

That promotion is valid for stays between September 15 and December 15, 2019.

Other Ways To Earn Hyatt Points

If you want to acquire World of Hyatt points without actually staying at Hyatt or M Life properties, there are some other options involving credit cards.

In addition to being able to earn World of Hyatt points with The World of Hyatt Credit Card (review), you can also transfer over points from Ultimate Rewards.

Bottom Line

I’m a big fan of the World of Hyatt and M Life Rewards partnership in Las Vegas, and have earned some bonus points thanks to it.

This is an especially good promotion when you consider that you can stack the Las Vegas promotion with Hyatt’s global promotion.

If you register for both promotions you’re looking at earning 15x World of Hyatt points per dollar spent at M Life properties, not including elite bonuses or the bonus points you earn for paying with your credit card.

So as a Globalist member I’d earn 16.5x points per dollar spent before factoring in credit card rewards. At a valuation of 1.5 cents per Hyatt point, that’s like a return of almost 25%. Then when you factor in credit card rewards, you could be looking at a 30%+ return.

Do you plan on taking advantage of this Hyatt promotion for MGM stays?

  1. They are having to work to get people staying at MGM properties in Las Vegas. What do you do when your “resort fees” are driving people away? You raise them. Fewer guests paying more.

No points earning on “resort fees” and associated taxes. MGM is one of the worst offenders.

    Don’t pay resort fees.

  2. @playalaguna,

I agree with you on the resort fees. They suck and I hate them.

However, as a data-point, I just did the math on my recent Vdara stay. I *did* get WoH points (6.5x) on the resort fee, as well as $15 ‘beverage’ (G&T) at a Bellagio restaurant (charged to my Vdara room). Colour me surprised.

  3. If I’ve already booked my stay in Oct via MGM website directly, can this promotion stack retrospectively if I register for Hyatt membership today?

  4. Your description of the promotion mentions point multipliers for “spending at the M life properties.“ So if I were to register for both promotions, but did not stay at one of the hotels, but had dinner or aspa treatment or any other spending at these properties with my Hyatt card and my M life card and my M life membership would iI get the points multiplied for that spending without being a guest at one of the hotels?

  5. For this promo, is it better to book through Hyatt with Lifetime Globalist status OR through MGM Platinum tier status? The rates seem higher through Hyatt I noticed.
