Marriott has co-branded credit cards issued by both American Express and Chase. I wanted to review the offers on each of these cards together for a quick and easy comparison.

Amex Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card: 95K Points

Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy Card: 85K points

The Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card has a welcome offer where you can earn 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after you use your new Card to make $5,000 in purchases within the first 6 months of Card Membership.

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card: up to 125K points

Earn up to 125,000 Bonvoy bonus points with this welcome offer

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card: up to 100K points

For applications through August 10, 2023, the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card is offering a limited time bonus of up to 100,000 Bonvoy points, structured as follows:

  • Earn 50,000 Bonvoy bonus points after spending $1,000 within the first six months
  • Earn 50,000 Bonvoy bonus points after completing six paid nights at Bonvoy properties by January 31, 2024

This is a solid bonus when you consider that this is a no annual fee card. Not only that, but there are reasons beyond the bonus that you might want to consider this card. Most significantly, the card offers 15 elite nights toward Marriott Bonvoy status annually, which is rewarding for a no annual fee card.

Earn elite nights toward status for having the card

Which Marriott credit card offer should you apply for?

The first thing to consider when deciding which card to apply for is Marriott credit card eligibility. This can be rather complicated, so see this post for more details on that.

Assuming you’re eligible for any of these cards, I’d personally highly recommend the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card. Not only does the card have the best bonus, but it’s also rewarding in the long run.

The up to $300 restaurant credit can help offset the card’s annual fee. Then on top of that you get Platinum status for as long as you have the card, 25 elite nights toward status annually, a free night award worth up to 85,000 Bonvoy points, a Priority Pass membership, and more. The card really pays for itself, in my opinion.

Bottom line

Marriott’s co-branded American Express and Chase credit cards have a variety of welcome offers at the moment that are worth considering.

Hello! Looking into getting one of the AMEX Marriott Cards, however looking at the requirements, I was offered an upgrade offer from the Chase Boundless to the Chase Bountiful (Targeted) for 15k Marriott points. I did not take it, and so does that eliminate me from the AMEX welcome offers?

I recently picked up the brilliant card. Does anyone know if you can double stack the initial $6,000 spend requirement with the current promotion of earning 10K points for $7000 spent?

While I was not a fan when SPG was acquired by Marriott, I’ve come around I have to admit. I’ve gotten good use out of the program recently. I get consistently upgraded in the breakfast benefit for elite. Platinum‘s isn’t bad at all in...

The 35K free night certificates can be very useful. recently used one of mine when the cash rates were $700 in Anaheim due to a conference taking place. I was staying for five nights. The first four nights were only $200 a night but totally different story on that fifth night. Really worked out well.

Unfortunately no, the terms of the promotion require "your card account must have been opened prior to June 21, 2023"

If you had all four cards on this list and completed the 6 nights promotion for extra points, would you get the point bonus for each of these cards or only one of them?

When is the 200k offer set to expire?

Why is no one (Chase but also travel blogs) talking about the Chase bountiful? It's the only card I'm eligible to get but it doesn't have the same offer as the bevy!!! Forgotten stepchild

The Bonvoy Brilliant Card seems like a pretty compelling offer. I may go for that one. While I'm not a huge fan of Marriott in general, I could use the extra nights to get lifetime platinum, and could use the extra points for airline transfers, plus as you note, the restaurant credit softens the annual fee price a lot.
