Air France first class (marketed as “La Premiere”) is regarded as one of the world’s best first class products. Best of all, the airline is in the process of rolling out a brand new first class suite, which takes the experience to the next level.
Air France’s “old” first class product was already excellent, and you can read my full review here. Meanwhile the new first class product is even more impressive, and you can read my full review here.
Air France is continuing to introduce its new first class product to more flights, and this product is now available on 18 aircraft, on an expanding number of routes. In this post, I’d like to recap which routes feature La Premiere, and which routes have the new product. On top of that, two new La Premiere destinations have been put on sale in recent times, so I’d like to cover that as well.
Even if Air France first class is out of your budget, it’s worth understanding which planes have the new first class, as they also have the new business class, which is excellent, and worth seeking out (and it can be easily booked with Air France-KLM Flying Blue miles). Furthermore, these planes are also guaranteed to have Starlink Wi-Fi, which benefits everyone on the plane.
Which planes have Air France first class?
Air France’s first class is only available on a subfleet of Boeing 777-300ERs, which feature four classes of service (first class, business class, premium economy, and economy). Specifically, it’s currently installed on just over two dozen Boeing 777-300ERs, which makes up roughly half of the 777-300ER fleet.
Just in the interest of being very thorough, let me emphasize that you won’t find first class on any other Air France jets, including the A330s, A350s, 787s, etc. Air France is increasing the number of 777-300ERs with first class cabins, though it’s not yet known how many total 777s will have first class, when all is said and done.

Which routes have Air France first class?
Which routes feature Air France first class? Air France operates Boeing 777-300ERs with first class on select frequencies between Paris (CDG) and the following destinations:
- Abidjan (ABJ)
- Atlanta (ATL)
- Dubai (DXB) — temporarily suspended
- Houston (IAH)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- Miami (MIA)
- New York (JFK)
- San Francisco (SFO)
- Sao Paulo (GRU)
- Singapore (SIN)
- Tel Aviv (TLV) — temporarily suspended
- Tokyo (HND)
- Washington (IAD)

On top of that, Air France has plans to introduce La Premiere first class on two additional routes in the coming months:
- To Boston (BOS) as of November 19, 2026
- To Newark (EWR) as of February 1, 2027
For what it’s worth, in the past we’ve seen Air France also offer first class to Beirut (BEY), Hong Kong (HKG), Johannesburg (JNB), and Mexico City (MEX), among other airports. We’ll see if any of those airports also see a return of first class.

Which flights have Air France’s new first class?
Air France’s plans are to retrofit the entire fleet of four cabin Boeing 777-300ERs with the new first class cabins. While the initial goal was for this project to be complete by the end of 2026, I think that’s not quite realistic, given that nine planes still have to be reconfigured. However, I suspect this project will be done by the spring of 2027.
So far, you’ll find the new cabins on the 777-300ERs with the registration codes F-GSQC, F-GSQE, F-GSQF, F-GSQK, F-GSQL, F-GSQU, F-GSQY, F-GZNA, F-GZNB, F-GZND, F-GZNE, F-GZNH, F-GZNK, F-GZNP, F-GZNQ, F-GZNR, F-GZNS, and F-GZNT. That’s a total of 18 planes so far, and for those keeping track, it looks like F-GSQM will be the next plane to be reconfigured.

It’s interesting to note that several of the 777-300ERs that have been reconfigured so far were previously in a three cabin configuration without first class, so that explains the increase in La Premiere capacity, which is allowing the number of destinations to grow as well.
So, which flights feature Air France’s new La Premiere first class product?
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and Abidjan (ABJ) have the new cabins, for flights AF702/703
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and Los Angeles (LAX) have the new cabins, for flights AF20/21, AF22/23, and AF24/25
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and Miami (MIA) have the new cabins, for flights AF90/91
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and New York (JFK) have the new cabins, most commonly for flights AF4/3 and AF6/5
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and San Francisco (SFO) have the new cabins, for flights AF84/83
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and Singapore (SIN) have the new cabins, for flights AF256/257
- Air France’s route between Paris (CDG) and Tokyo (HND) have the new cabins, for flights AF274/275
Keep in mind that routes operated by the new aircraft type are always subject to change. When searching online, how can you tell if your flight will feature the new first class? For one, if you go to Air France’s website and do a search, you’ll see a message indicating “Aircraft equipped with the new La Premiere suite.”

Furthermore, when you go to the seat map, you’ll see a different layout, with both a seat and chaise longue. The seat numbers are also different — for the new configuration, first class consists of 1A, 1D, 1H, and 1L, while for the old configuration, first class consists of 1A, 1E, 1F, and 1L.

Note that these reconfigured jets aren’t just great news for first class passengers. As Air France installs its new first class, the airline is entirely overhauling its four cabin Boeing 777-300ERs. Most exciting is that these planes are also getting Air France’s new business class with doors, so arguably that’s an equally positive aspect of these updates. Also, as mentioned above, all of the reconfigured planes also have Starlink Wi-Fi, which offers unbeatable — and free — connectivity on long haul flights.

Bottom line
Air France exclusively has its La Premiere first class cabin on just over two dozen Boeing 777-300ERs, operating select long haul flights out of Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). These planes are in the process of being reconfigured, and Air France has so far updated the interiors of 18 jets.
You’ll now find these updated 777-300ERs flying from Paris (CDG) to Abidjan (ABJ), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Singapore (SIN), and Tokyo (HND), on select frequencies. Obviously this is exciting for those in first class, but it’s also positive for others, between the new business class cabins, plus the consistent availability of Starlink Wi-Fi.
What do you make of Air France’s plans for its refreshed four cabin Boeing 777-300ERs?
I see AF everyday at IAH it’s always a350.
That's now changed, they're all 77Ws these days going as AF98/99
You may want to check AF274 and AF275 (CDG-HND-CDG), not sure they're flying with LP these days. For sure, AF278 and AF279 have it, as I have an LP booking on one of these coming up very soon.
AF278/AF279 are Narita and last flew 7 years ago, so unless there's some joke I'm missing here, I think you're confused.

LOVE the passive aggression. One thing about passive aggression - if you're going to use it, you need to be sure you're right, or you look uninformed and silly, and people are embarrassed for you.

AF279 is currently HND-CDG, has been for some time, and flies five days a week. I was ON this flight last month. Unless there's some joke I'm missing here, I think you are confused. You should look at something called the "internet" and see for yourself.
The more you know...
You have the numbers wrong, thus my confusion. AF 278 isn't CDG-HND, it's AF 274. This is easily verifiable by a simple Google search.
I was wrong in assuming that the return was AF 275 rather than AF 279; so you are right in that HND-CDG is AF 279.
"For sure, AF278 and AF279 have it" ... AF 278 does not exist.
Willy, if you do not have a very good AF LP flight, I will be most surprised. I might even eat Walter Mitty’s hat …. :-)
With eating in mind, you might like to give
La Train Bleu, Gare de Lyon a squirt. If you do not know it then you might be put off because it is in a railway station, don’t be.
It's Le Train Bleu. Masculine, not feminine.
I wish Swiss would leave the Lufthansa Group. Their old first class was good but the new version is hopeless and with barely 3 seats per flight instead of 8 it won't last long. Why don't Lufthansa group swallow their pride over the Allegris debacle and look to Air France's 4 seats per row, comfort par excellence approach?
Charlie … your Allegris comment is just stupid and asinine.
How can they leave if they were bought by LH because of bankruptcy..
Agreed. It’s a significant downgrade. At least J is better if you study hard enough to figure out what seat to pick.
No thanks - sitting on a coat hanger is not comfortable .
Albert, I know that it is early morning here in the ‘Old Country’, but I am awake …. ‘onest! Yet I really do not understand what you are posting about, care to elaborate?
I just booked CDG-SFO for September and it shows the new config.
I fly F in the US and J across oceans. If I flew F internationally, it would only meant charities would get less when I die. I'll never do international F. Stupidly wasteful it is (Yoda).
I'm booked in one Houston IAH-CDG in late July so IAH is getting it also at some point soon
AF.com displays the new suite from SFO from 13 August.
No way, I just booked this!!
TLV has been operational again for more than a month…
I have an AF flight booked to IAH in a few months specifically hoping for an upgrade to LP!
Assuming that you're already booked into AF biz? If so, is it on a paid/cash ticket?
AF changed the policy so that *officially,* only PAID/CASH biz. tickets are eligible for cash upgrade at checkin or at the airport. That said, I've read reports about how it's not enforced at all stations that have LP service, so YMMV if you're on an award. If you're on a cash ticket and want to pay for the...

AF changed the policy so that *officially,* only PAID/CASH biz. tickets are eligible for cash upgrade at checkin or at the airport. That said, I've read reports about how it's not enforced at all stations that have LP service, so YMMV if you're on an award. If you're on a cash ticket and want to pay for the upgrade, try and check in as soon as online checkin opens to see if you're offered the upgrade. They seem (anecdotally) to range from US $1,500 to US $2,500. On my last few LP flights, AF was showing LP availability for at least two seats the day before the flight, but the cabin went out full the day of, which I'm assuming are upgrades because business was *not* full on a couple of those segments.
Personally I have no idea how and when and if the upgrades work, because I'm always on a cash ticket or an award (EXPENSIVE at 350,000 o.w. for almost all segments), so I'm confirmed when I book and I've never played upgrade roulette myself.
Good luck to you!
@Ben, every JFK flight is showing as having the new La Premier now, per their site and in Sabre.
Ooh lala! We’re LP’n ‘ere! Fuhgeddaboudit!
In September 2025, Air France mentioned that it's considering La Premier for upcoming A350s, but that no final decision had been made. Was Fabien Pelous who made the announcement.
Ben, just to let you know - so far eight of the twelve 777s which were reconfigured into the NEW standard three class config between 2022 and 2024 have been put into the new four class configuration. Only four standard three class planes are left. In addition twelve of the 19 four class planes have been reconfigured.

It is my understanding that in addition to all 19 existing four class planes, all 12 of the standard three class planes will be reconfigured as well to the new four class configurations. So, in the end there should be 31 four class planes, plus the remaining 12 planes in the high density leisure configuration. Just two configs.
Great to see Abidjan on the list. I'm partial, of course.
I just wish that AF would operate their second SFO service flights (AF 82/83) with F cabins. Typically the A359 is on the later service (albeit it usually has the new business class). The earlier (main) flight (AF80), with its 10:20AM departure from CDG does not give much time to enjoy the La Premiere lounge. And the early departure, (AF81) at 3:05PM from SFO does not making sleeping super easy.
Almost all my upcoming BOS - CDG AF060/AF061 are showing F.
ABJ has not been reliable for me. My last two ABJ-CDG were swapped to the old cabins a few days before. I wasn’t in F but it meant the old J for me :/
Pretty sure you missed DKR as a former La Premiere destination. I don't think AF has ever served DSS with La Premiere.
Small typo: its F-GSQM.
Not announced by AF publicly, but seatmaps are showing the new P class suites consistently on IAH from 30 October and Dulles from 02 January.
