Air France has revealed plans to launch flights to two new transatlantic destinations as of the summer of 2027, as we’ll see the airline fly to both Nashville, Tennessee, and San Diego, California, as flagged by AeroRoutes.
It’s always cool to see new long haul dots added to the map, so let’s take a look at the details. Air France recently cut flights to Denver, Colorado, so presumably these routes are partly how the airline is choosing to instead allocate those planes.
Air France plans Paris to Nashville flights as of May 2027
As of May 14, 2027, Air France plans to add 3x weekly flights between Paris (CDG) and Nashville (BNA), with the following schedule:
AF38 Paris to Nashville departing 2:10PM arriving 4:40PM
AF39 Nashville to Paris departing 6:55PM arriving 10:15AM (+1 day)
The 4,372-mile flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, in both directions. It’s blocked at 9hr30min westbound and 8hr20min eastbound. It’ll be operated by an Airbus A350-900, featuring business class, premium economy, and economy.
Nashville has seen a gradual but impressive amount of transatlantic growth over the years. The airport currently has service from both Aer Lingus and British Airways, which belong to the same oneworld transatlantic joint venture (otherwise including American, Finnair, and Iberia). There’s also seasonal service on Icelandair, though perhaps that’s not a “true” transatlantic flight.
So it’s cool to see that the SkyTeam transatlantic joint venture will also now have a nonstop flight out of Nashville. Of course this will be practical not just for travel to and from Paris, but also for connections to other points in Europe, Africa, India, the Middle East, etc.

Air France plans Paris to San Diego flights as of May 2027
As of May 17, 2027, Air France plans to add 3x weekly flights between Paris (CDG) and San Diego (BNA), with the following schedule:
AF58 Paris to San Diego departing 10:10AM arriving 12:50PM
AF59 San Diego to Paris departing 3:10PM arriving 11:05AM (+1 day)
The 5,698-mile flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, in both directions. It’s blocked at 11hr40min westbound and 10hr55min eastbound. It’ll be operated by an Airbus A350-900, featuring business class, premium economy, and economy.
San Diego has also seen a nice amount of transatlantic growth over the years, as the airport has service from British Airways, KLM, and Lufthansa, so all three transatlantic joint ventures are represented there. The SkyTeam transatlantic joint venture will be the first to have service from two carriers.

Bottom line
Air France appears to be adding two new destinations in the United States as of the summer of 2027, as the airline will fly from Paris to both Nashville and San Diego. Both routes will operate 3x weekly, and this represents the first time the airline will operate regularly scheduled, consistent flights to these destinations.
These are both very cool additions to Air France’s network, and competitively, probably make more sense than flying to Denver, where United has a huge advantage.
What do you make of Air France’s newest routes to the United States?
Nice places to hide from United.
Zut alors! Surprised there’s even enough space at SAN to fit all these wide-bodies. I guess they stagger arrivals and departures. (Wild that BA used to fly a 744 there.) For BNA, it seems the terminal re-design is paying off; that place really is growing-up. (Though, I hear Music Town is becoming infested with billionaires and data centers... IYKYK.)
