In the interest of full disclosure, I was a media guest of Brussels Airlines on these flights. I paid for my own hotel and flights to/from Brussels, and for that matter there wasn’t actually a way to buy a ticket on these flights except as part of a Tomorrowland package. All opinions expressed are my own.

Boarding began at around 10AM. In addition to the crew, the “elves” were at the door to greet passengers.

Goodie bags were also handed out, which consisted of Red Bull, sunglasses, keychains, and Tomorrowland newspapers.

It was also pretty cool that all the seat covers were Tomorrowland-branded.

At around 10:20AM the captain came on the PA to welcome everyone aboard “this very special Brussels Airlines flight to Tomorrowland” and inform us of our flight time of 45 minutes. He explained that there would be a departure delay due to some baggage we were waiting on, and promised to keep us updated.

Shortly thereafter the purser came on the PA with a similar welcome – “people of Tomorrowland, welcome aboard this flight to Brussels,” which was met with loud applause. She also reminded everyone that it was strictly prohibited to consume your own alcohol aboard. 😉

When boarding was finished the “elves” settled in again in the seats behind me (for the record, I’m not a creep — they were posing for a picture). 😉

The delay lasted for a little while, but everyone was in good spirits. Every so often the passengers would randomly start singing a song, despite no musical accompaniment, which I found pretty hilarious.

We ended up starting our pushback at 11:15AM. We taxied out to runway 18, which took about 20 minutes. I was quite excited to be taxiing by the Lufthansa 747-8 Fanhansa Siegerflieger, which flew the German World Cup team home after their victory.

At 11:35AM we were airborne, which was once again met with applause and screaming.

Five minutes after takeoff the seatbelt sign was turned off and inflight DJ (DJ Makasi) set up his “booth” on top of a galley cart, even though he only had 20 minutes to entertain the cabin.

The purser asked everyone to lower their window shades for the party flight, and the lights in the cabin were dimmed all the way.

My next goal is to get onto one of these party flights from one of the further destinations, like Oslo, where they have an extra hour or so to go wild.

So I’m no sure words can really describe the next 20 minutes. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Nearly everyone in the cabin was taking pictures and videos, to the point that cell phones almost acted as glow sticks.
