SQ Award tax&fees confusion

SQ Award tax&fees confusion

1. Oneworldaa New Member

Hi Lucky,

I recently booked 2 seperate one way F *award 80k using SQ miles
Muc-Sfo (LH) / Sfo-Lax (UA) / Lax-Las (UA) Total taxes 467.- SGD (average 3hours layover between each connecting flights)

Las-Iad (UA) / Iad-Fra (LH) / Fra-Lhr (LH)
Total taxes 796.- SGD (average 3 hours layover between each connecting flights)

How come the tax & fees on the second trip is alot higher? I’m wondering if the SQ calculate
Just curiosity, with SQ oneway *award, can you have upto 4 segments?

Thank you & appreciate it.

Welcome @Oneworldaa –
The difference is the fuel surcharges on the LH flights. I used ITA Matrix and just looked at the LH legs and it was much more expensive on the IAD-FRA-LHR flight. UA does not typically pass along fuel surcharges.
