@ Samar -- Hah, I'm 100% sure you won't regret it, because you can't beat the value of business class. For that matter, there's always next time!
Have you ever flown Starlux when they had a passenger in first class? After multiple flights, I finally did. They block off the front lavatory solely for use by the first class passenger. Odd "perk."
@ Craig -- On my flight there was no one. I'm curious, how does the blocking of the lav work in practice? They just tell turn anyone who walks there that they can't use it, or is there another system?
The use of Huan Yu Terminal is a great experience, but to be honest, the food and beverage was on the weak side. You will get a personal Starlux escort throughout the whole journey anyway. The food on Starlux First Class Terminal is most likely to be better. The arrival experience in Narita will be excellent. While there is no limo service, there will be a VIP person helping you with immigration and your baggages will definitely be delivered first.

@ Carfield76 -- Can't wait, thank you! 🙂 For the checked bag, was it delivered in that big black box? I've seen that they place your bag in it at check-in, but I guess I won't be able to see it at PS LAX. So do you know if they also present it that way on arrival?
Buying miles for JX F on a long-haul flight seems like a pretty good deal to me: The delta in the miles price vs. cash cost differentials for long-haul vs. short-haul is vast — and not at all proportional. The on-board catering options on JX F long-haul seem great. Looking forward to your review, Ben!
@ hanchicago -- Thanks! 🙂 Yeah, I found it interesting how short haul costs half as many miles as long haul, while the cash difference is much bigger. And love how you can include a short haul first segment with a long haul award.
@Ben Schlappig, I tried a dummy booking on Starlux to check award availability, but I could only do it for one person. How do you recommend I search for award availability for 2 or more seats since I'm limited to one person on Starlux's website?
Re Air Côte d'Ivoire (HF): I think the only thing you can do is to book in their P fare class, which is marginally cheaper than F. There is some availability in P on certain dates. (Your screen shot does not reveal the fare class).

It's certainly none of my business so ignore this question if you want, but I'm intrigued... you said this would be one of the 3 most expensive flight tickets you've booked; pray tell, what were the others? Were they significantly more expensive?
