You kind of glossed over the 6 years of protectionist certification slow rolling over the gulfstream. Canada almost immediately conceded and certified them. No small thing. This makes less sense.... but I'm perfectly happy to have bombadiers be made in the US all the same.
1) If Canada suffers more than the US in absolute terms, then the US “wins”
2) If Canada suffers more than the US in relative terms (i.e. loss of GDP), then the US “wins”
3) If by losing here a little, the US gains more on a separate (or future) issue, then the US gains”wins”. Think of this like a basketball coach who takes a technical or gets ejected, in order to gain better officiating for his team the rest of the contest.
The sooner people realize that there is a POSSIBILITY that this crazy or incompetent schtick MAY be just that, an over-the-top performance, maybe we will not need to continue to have it force fed upon us.
One last thought, losing commenters with different perspectives does not a thriving comment section make, but rather an echo chamber.
