    I created a new account for the boss and transferred some points into Etihad Guest. I see the points post to her Etihad account but when I go to book a flight it says she has no miles. Is there some kind of a delay, either for new accounts or for miles transfers?

    I transfered once from AMEX to Etihad but I can’t remember how long it took. I think I made the transfer on a Thursday and booked the flight on Monday. Hope it works out.

    Update: So transferring Amex MR to Etihad on a Thursday means that while the points show up in the EY Guest account, they arent immediately usable. They became available for use when I checked Sunday. I transferred some points today as well and were available within 15 minutes.

    EY allows cash and points bookings – I booked EY A380 F AUH-JFK for 89470 EY Guest Miles plus ~1745AED.
