AAward booking date change – booking predeval

We all know that you can book award travel 330 days out. We also know that AA has a pretty generous award change policy, in that you can change dates for free. My question is if I booked a first class award on Cathay on March 1st 2016, for travel in Feb 2017 at the current mileage rate; can I then call the award desk in January 2017 and push the travel date to later in 2017 with no mileage charge? (Keeping to-from and class the same)

    Thanks!

Yes and no — tickets are only valid for one year from date of issue, so that will be the limiting factor.
