Radisson Rewards Americas Promo: 3K Points Per Night

4

The Radisson Rewards Americas loyalty program was introduced in June 2021, and is exclusively for Radisson-family properties in the Americas. Note that even though Choice Hotels has purchased Radisson Group Americas, for now the program is continuing to be run independently, and there’s no timeline for that changing.

Radisson Rewards Americas has just launched its latest major promotion for fall travel, and it has the potential to be pretty rewarding.

Earn 3K points per night with Radisson Rewards Americas

With the new Radisson Rewards Americas promotion, members can earn 3,000 bonus points for every night they stay during the offer period. As you’d expect, there are some details to be aware of:

  • The offer is valid for stays between September 19 and December 15, 2022
  • You must register prior to check-out of your first eligible stay (it’s fine if you booked your stay prior to the start of the promotion)
  • The offer is available at all 600+ Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Radisson Individuals, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson hotels in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean
  • You can earn up to 100,000 bonus points with this promotion (which you’d earn after staying 34 nights)
  • Qualifying stays are those that are booked directly with Radisson at an eligible rate, which excludes award nights and Points + Cash redemptions
  • Bonus points should post within five days of an eligible stay

How valuable is this Radisson Rewards Americas promotion?

Radisson Rewards Americas members ordinarily earn 20 base points per dollar spent. This doesn’t factor in any elite bonuses (up to 15 points per dollar spent for Platinums) or bonuses from credit card rewards. The 3,000 bonus points per night (up to 100,000 bonus points) would be in addition to that.

Personally I value Radisson Rewards points at ~0.3 cents each, meaning by my valuation you ordinarily earn a 6% return on Radisson spending, and then you get an incremental $9 back per night with this promotion. While I wouldn’t say that this is a reason to switch stays to Radisson, when you consider the overall rewards structure, that’s pretty decent, especially at reasonably priced properties.

For context on what your points can get you, here’s the Radisson Rewards Americas award chart:

Bottom line

Radisson Rewards Americas has launched its latest promotion, valid for stays this fall. With this offer, you can earn 3,000 bonus points per night, which I value at an incremental $9 return per night. That’s on top of earning 20 points per dollar spent, not including elite bonuses and credit card rewards.

I still have a hard time getting excited about Radisson Rewards Americas in general, given the program’s limited footprint, having been split off from the rest of Radisson Rewards, while not being integrated into Choice Privileges.

Do you plan on taking advantage of this Radisson Rewards Americas promotion?

When was the last time you’ve stayed at a Radisson property?

    I thought you’ve only stay at Hilton’s

At least Hilton points are worth more than Radisson

When was the last time you’ve stayed at a Radisson property?

I do not recall staying at a Radisson property since I started playing the game more than 2 decades ago.

It is not even remotely correct that I stay only at Hilton hotels. As I've reported before, I've stayed at several Hyatt (e.g., PH Siem Reap, PH Saigon, PH Bangkok) and Marriott (e.g.,...

As I've reported before, I've stayed at several Hyatt (e.g., PH Siem Reap, PH Saigon, PH Bangkok) and Marriott (e.g., JW & Renaissance BKK) properties when they got me a better deal; I needed a change of pace; for convenience; or simply because a destination had Hilton presence (e.g. Siem Reap).

Well, you're wrong and still confused about that, just like self-anointed "travel gurus" who perpetuated the canard.
Hilton points are not "worth" more than Radisson's. The two and all the other major hotel points currencies are "worth" exactly the same, as I showed incontrovertibly in this space about a week ago.
No to worry if you missed it. I will keep recycling the comment, as necessary, until that simple but universally misunderstood concept sinks in.

      G'day.

Your valuation of the Radisson Rewards (RR) point is a bit low. The correct value is 0.36 cent/RR point, which rounds up to 0.4cpp, so that the “return on the dollar” or “RoD” on an earn rate of 20x is a bit higher:

    RoD = 0.4 cents/RR point * 20 RR points/$ = 8%

Of course, the correct way to make estimates of such returns on spending is to include all the points earned from the spending (elite bonus, CC bonus, promo bonus).

    G’day.
