Marriott & Uber New User Promo: Earn Up To 3,000 Bonus Points

4

Marriott and Uber have a partnership, allowing Bonvoy members to earn points when spending with Uber and Uber Eats. If you haven’t yet participated in this collaboration, there’s an incentive to do so right now, and you don’t even have to make a purchase to unlock part of the offer.

New members can earn up to 3,000 Bonvoy points

At the moment it’s possible to earn 1,500 Bonvoy points when you link your Uber app and your Marriott Bonvoy account. On top of that, you can earn an additional 1,500 Bonvoy points when you complete a premium Uber ride.

As you’d expect, there are some terms to be aware of:

  • This is valid through December 17, 2025
  • This is valid for accounts registered in the United States that haven’t previously linked their Marriott Bonvoy account and Uber app
  • There’s no activity requirement for the 1,500 Bonvoy points, so you don’t even need to make a purchase with Uber or Uber Eats to earn bonus points; the second part of the offer is available to those who take a ride with the UberXL, Comfort, Black, or Black SUV option
  • Bonus points will post within four to six weeks

Personally I value Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each, so to me the 3,000 bonus points are worth $21, or put another way, each of the two parts of the offer is worth $1,050. That’s not all that much to get excited about, but still, it’s better than nothing, especially since there’s no purchase required for the first 1,500 points, and there’s value to participating in this partnership in general.

How the Marriott & Uber partnership works

With the Marriott Bonvoy and Uber partnership, you can earn 1-3x Bonvoy points per dollar spent with Uber, depending on the type of transaction (for context, I value Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each):

  • Earn 3x Bonvoy points on UberXL, Comfort, and Black rides; I value that at an incremental 2.1% return
  • Earn 2x Bonvoy points on pre-scheduled UberX Reserve rides; I value that at an incremental 1.4% return
  • Earn 2x Bonvoy points per dollar spent on Uber Eats restaurant and grocery deliveries to hotels operating under the Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, or Element brand; I value that at an incremental 1.4% return
  • Earn 1x Bonvoy points on all other Uber Eats restaurant and grocery delivery purchases, with a minimum $40 basket; I value that at an incremental 0.7% return

On top of that, those with an Uber One membership automatically receive Marriott Silver status.

Bottom line

Through December 17, 2025, you can earn 1,500 bonus Bonvoy points when you download the Uber app and link your Marriott Bonvoy account, with no qualifying purchase required. If you’re eligible and haven’t yet linked your accounts, for whatever reason, this would be a worthwhile incentive to do so. On top of that, you can earn 1,500 bonus Bonvoy points after completing an eligible premium ride.
