Earn 1,000 American AAdvantage Bonus Miles Per Night With Hyatt (Targeted)

American AAdvantage and World of Hyatt have a partnership, and many members are being targeted for a fantastic new offer (my guess is that it’s primarily targeted at members with status).

1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles per Hyatt night

Select American AAdvantage and World of Hyatt members who have linked their accounts can earn 1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles per eligible night with Hyatt:

Members will receive communication directly about this offer, though you can also check your eligibility at this link. It appears to me like this is at least pretty widely targeted.

This is an awesome promotion — I value American AAdvantage miles at ~1.5 cents each, so to me this is like an incremental ~$15 return per Hyatt night, which is significant.Ā

This is in addition to all other points earning

What’s awesome is that this promotion is in addition to all the usual points earning opportunities:

These are some very nice stacking opportunities, especially at less expensive hotels. As a Globalist member with the World of Hyatt Card, I’m earning:

  • 10.5x World of Hyatt points per dollar spent (5x points like everyone, plus 1.5x points for being a Globalist, plus 4x points for paying with the World of Hyatt Card)
  • 1,250 World of Hyatt bonus points per night with Hyatt’s current promotion
  • 1,000 American AAdvantage bonus miles per night with this new promotion
  • 1x American AAdvantage miles per dollar spent

Based on my valuation of points, that’s a fixed return of $33.75 per night at Hyatt, plus a variable return of 18.4% on Hyatt spending. Not bad!

Hyatt stays can be pretty rewarding right now!

Bottom line

Thanks to a new promotion, select members enrolled in the American AAdvantage and World of Hyatt partnership can earn 1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles per Hyatt night over the coming months. I value that at an incremental return of ~$15 per night.

When you combine that with all of the other points earning opportunities with Hyatt stays, that’s an impressive return for these hotel stays. That’s especially true if you’re staying at a hotel that isn’t too expensive when paying cash, or if you’re redeeming points.

Were you targeted for this promotion, and if so, will you get value from it?

  1. I tried to register and it said I was already registered. Maybe since I’m a globalist my concierge registered me for it? Or does it say that for everyone else?

  2. Globalist…. I tried not eligible. No aa status here either. Not sure how widely targeted this is.

  3. @Bryan, I got the same message. Perhaps it has something to do with my AA account (where I’m an infrequent flier) already being linked? My concierge seems nice, but she doesn’t strike me as proactive enough to do something like this on her own.

  4. Ben: email says “book and stay between April 15 and July 31” but Terms and Conditions only mention qualifying nights: “You must be a recipient of this offer and register for the offer between April 15, 2021 and June 30, 2021 to participate. Offer valid for qualifying nights between April 15, 2021 to July 31, 2021 (ā€œOffer Periodā€) at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide and participating M life Rewards destinations, Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties, and Lindblad Expeditions. ”
Would the bookings before April 15 qualify for this promotion?

  5. Globalist + Exec Platinum, not targeted. Husband is Globalist without AA statusā€”also not targeted.

  6. The email I received referenced that nights needed to be booked and stayed between the dates, but the terms and conditions on Hyatt’s webpage don’t mention anything about booking during the promo period that starts today 4/15. Any idea if nights booked prior to 4/15 for stays after 4/15 will count?

  7. I was targeted though I have no AA status and Hyatt status is only by virtue of my World of Hyatt card. My accounts were already linked and I already had several stays booked in the time period. Hopefully they count without rebooking.

  8. Globalist + EP (from Hyatt promotion last year). Eligible and already registered, probably thanks to my awesome concierge.

  9. Weird, im a lowlife AA Gold + Hyatt Explorist and I got an email and successfully registered. Still unsure if it applies to previously booked rooms. I’m at Hyatt in SF this weekend so we’ll see.

  10. I’m an AA Gold and a Discoverist, and I wasn’t targeted for this, so who knows that the criteria were.
