Marriott Bonvoy has just opened registration for its newest global promotion, which is only the program’s second of this year. On the one hand, this offer isn’t much to get excited about. On the other hand, some promotion is better than no promotion, so I guess I’m pleasantly surprised (since I wasn’t necessarily expecting another offer this year?).

Marriott Bonvoy’s “Celebrate 2025” global promotion

With Marriott Bonvoy’s new global promotion, members can earn 2,025 Bonvoy bonus points per stay, up to three times. Furthermore, it’s possible to earn 2,000 more Bonvoy points per stay with Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors properties (for a total of up to 4,025 Bonvoy points per stay).

In other words, members can earn up to 6,075 Bonvoy bonus points with this promotion at standard properties, and up to 12,075 Bonvoy bonus points with this promotion at Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors properties.

Marriott Bonvoy’s “Celebrate 2025” promotion

Registration is required for this promotion, and as you’d expect, there are some details to be aware of:

  • The promotion is valid for stays between October 28, 2025, and January 10, 2026, regardless of when they’re booked
  • Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay, and registration closes on December 27, 2025; if you’re having issues with the link, log into your Marriott Bonvoy account and go to the “promotions” tab
  • Only stays paid with cash qualify toward this promotion, so award stays (including Cash + Points stays) don’t qualify
  • The bonus points will typically post within five days of when the standard points from a stay post
  • You must select Bonvoy points as your points earning preference (rather than airline miles)
  • You can only earn this bonus for one room booked per stay (so if you book multiple rooms, you wouldn’t earn this multiple times)

How valuable is this Marriott Bonvoy promotion?

While not the most exciting thing on earth, at least Marriott Bonvoy is offering a promotion at all. The math on this is pretty straightforward. Personally, I value Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each, which means that 2,025 Bonvoy bonus points are worth $14, and 4,025 Bonvoy bonus points are worth $28.

It’s actually not a bad return on a per-stay basis (assuming the stay is fairly inexpensive and short), the only catch is that you’re capped at earning this offer for a total of three stays, which is a pretty low cap.

This is better than nothing, because as I said, I wasn’t necessarily expecting Marriott to offer a big promotion for the fall. The one big Marriott promotion each year is typically in the spring, as we usually see a double elite nights promotion, plus some sort of bonus points offer.

Normal Bonvoy points earning rates for hotel stays

Not factoring in this promotion, Marriott Bonvoy members ordinarily earn:

  • 10x Bonvoy points per dollar spent at most brands
  • 5x Bonvoy points per dollar spent at select limited service brands

Then there are elite bonuses:

The above doesn’t include the points you can earn for credit card spending at hotels:

As an Ambassador member with a co-branded credit card, I ordinarily earn 23.5x Bonvoy points per dollar spent at full service brands. At a valuation of 0.7 cents per point, that’s like a ~16% return on hotel spending.

Bottom line

Marriott Bonvoy has launched its latest global promotion, so make sure you register. With this, members can earn 2,025 bonus points per eligible paid stay during the promotion period, on up to three stays. Furthermore, they can earn up to 2,000 additional bonus points per eligible paid stay at Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors properties.

This actually isn’t a half bad offer in terms of the reward per stay (assuming you’re making short and inexpensive stays), though the cap of being rewarded for just three stays is quite limiting.

What do you make of Marriott Bonvoy’s global promotion?

LTP and Ambassador - no dice on this promotion. Not that I would notice 6K points in my current balance to be fair...

My only questions is if the Marriott Outdoors properties can properly keep Bill Rubin's room at 62 degrees?

@Ben— these bullet points need to be updated:
    > The bonus points and bonus elite nights will typically post within five days of when the standard points from a stay post [no bonus elite nights]
    > There’s no limit to how many bonus points or bonus elite nights you can earn (beyond the limit of how many nights you can stay during the promotion period) [the limit is 3 stays]

Is a stay ONLY with Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors (very limited choice) eligible? How is it a global promotion then? Very frustrating.

No. MB Outdoors just earns extra bonus points…

This must be targeted. I’m LTT and won’t accept my reg site stating I’m ineligible to participate.

As weak as the coffee from their in-room CV1 coffee makers in even their full service hotels
