“ To be clear, with this offer you only earn one bonus elite night per stay at a [new brand], so if staying at a [new brand] for five nights, you wouldn’t earn five bonus elite nights.”
The T&Cs do not state this “new brand” requirement, whatever you think it is.

Is paying for Marriott hotels on a Bonvoy credit card really the best option? I don't. think it is.
Bonvoy points convert to airline miles at a rate of 0.33 (or 0.42, if we include the transfer bonus). 6 × 0.42 = 2.52 points per $.
A competiting card that offers 4× points on hotel spend, with 1:1 conversion to airline transfer partners, earns 4 points per $.
Well, do you value Bonvoy points for their conversion to airline miles or to stay at Bonvoy properties?
Most people are probably redeeming for stays at Marriott brands, not transferring to partners.
CSR, earnings 4x per $ on hotel stays, is still the winner for those stays—but it's also $795/year, instead of $95/$125 for the Bonvoy Boundless/Business cards.

CSR earns 4x on hotel stays. It's enough of a difference that I put Marriott stays on that now vs the Boundless.
If it's any consolation, Marriotts in the US now charge ridiculous (by world standards) rates for what you are actually getting. It's eye opening even to go to European Marriott properties and see that they are actually properly staffed, have good breakfasts, etc.
Keeps getting more difficult to reach elite status. In countries where there is no credit card short cut possible. Looks like Marriott is going to lose me …. And I need to stay 50-75 reals nights in hotels….
Well, there goes my reaching platinum another year. I only reach platinum because Marriott is my company's preferred and several of my business trips occur between Feb and April, the period when the double nights promo existed.
Surely that would be 1 elite night only. Wouldn't Fairfield be considered the same brand irrespective of the state of their location?

Most Club lounges in Europe will just have lots of American Credit Card shortcut friends.. , while us. who pay to stay, will have to pay more to access the lounge..
If they want to cut numbers, they should do it across the board.
Yep almost half of my work travel occurs in March/April timeframe, and my company policy won't let me book anything above a Courtyard. So goodbye Marriott.
I hit lifetime Platinum in 2025 and the double nights without changing hotels was a big help.

Fascinating the number of people I see planning to twist themselves in to pretzels to get the one night. Planning to break their stays up to 1 night stays at different hotels. Who has time for that foolishness. So darn weird.
It's been 2x for the last five years. This is the first time in half a decade that they're breaking the pattern.
I’m finding this language in the Ts and Cs for this promo to be ambiguous: “ A “stay” is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same property on a points-eligible rate, regardless of check-in/check-out activity, under the same one reservation or multiple back-to-back reservations.”…so a single night stay doesn’t cut it?..how many “consecutive nights” are required?
that's really going to be an impressive bonus for my weeklong house rental on the big island later this month. Was really hoping for the 7 extra elite nights...
I get this same message when I use the link in the article and it doesn't show up under My Promotions when I log in. I'm Titanium and a points (vs miles) earner.
Coincidentally I was just checking my Marriott account and the promotion that came up was for double elite credit nights for all paid stays through November 30, though I wonder if that’s targeted and not for all members.
The reward rate on paid stays at the major networks is unappealing. Hyatt Globalist = 6.5 * 1.5 CPP = 9.75%. Marriott = 15 * 0.7 CPP = 10.5%. Etc. Throw in the watering down of tier benefits. A person will serve themselves well to consider previously foregone opportunities at non-network properties.
I would have not been happy at all with this promotion since I would have missed it by *literally* a day for my stays. But then I checked my Marriott account and saw a promo for 4500 bonus points on my first paid stay and 7500 bonus points on my next paid stay, all until Oct 31. So it's better than what is described here.
These promotions are so weak there is no way they actually impact customers' behavior. Probably more out there for franchisees, so that Marriott can send a deck at the end of each year and have a slide about "a global promo driving loyalty" etc.

Can I be honest? I'm at 71 nights. This is so bleeping weak that I'm tempted to only book the Fri/Sat nights on a stay with Marriott and just go via AAH or someone like that for any other paid nights. 5000 points max is weak enough that I had a momentary temptation to decline to register out of spite.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I think it's time to start giving some gift horses a full dental exam. At some point the offer comes across as so weak as to be insulting.
You’d think as such Christians they wouldn’t be quite so tight. I would prefer complimentary arrival water on my table to a thick bible in the draw.
It's peculiar that Marriott doesn't offer a higher earning rate for Ambassador. Even something small would go a long way toward differentiating the tier.
The excuse for earning it tends to be “well I just get there naturally”.

We see more and more benefits for loyalty shrink! Your cost goes up, they claim they are doing U a favor? For travelers U have to put your dollars somewhere. The problem is one loyalty plan follows the others!
They allocated all the points for promo to compensate Sebastian for a broken light bulb and an egg incorrectly cooked for breakfast.

This is just...eh.
So, I'm on an unplanned two-night trip to Miami thanks to Bezos crashing a plane into Musk's parking lot*. Four nights from Titanium, Lifetime Platinum. Didn't even look at Marriott - the question was Accor vs Hyatt. Hyatt won out on better location/price combos, but it was a close call.
I'd like a way to sort "acceptable" hotels across a few chains and then book direct, but Marriott is just overrun with too much select service mush and I didn't see a compelling reason to book with them at this point since I'll probably limp out Titanium regardless.
*I'm being facetious, of course. Obviously neither was directly involved.
