I have just seen that according to SPG programme rules, late check out is now only “guaranteed” at hotels “except at resort, conference center, and convention hotels, where it is based upon availability.”
As far as I remember this is the Marriott phrasing and SPG before that was only limited at resort hotels. No such limit for “conference center and convention hotels”. This must have been introduced very silently and I can already imagine how many hotels with convention facilities will try to escape by using this.
I knew Marriott was going to lower standards for us but I wouldn’t have thought they were secretly changing them in little steps. Certainly doesn’t raise my trust in them…
