In Kind has now gone to “dynamic” pricing, and the discount has been reduced for most places from 20% to 10% on some or all days.

Yeah, it was too good to be true. Great while it lasted though.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Here in Las Vegas, I was suckered into installing the app to get $20 off a $60 order at Rebellion pizza. Placed the order, never saw the $20. Immediately deleted the app, and advised the restaurant they lost a customer. I do not buy from businesses that affiliate with scammers

lol, "never saw the $20". If there was a promo like that, it would have come up before you placed the order, showing you a total price $20 lower.

Those offers are common, and I've never had it not show up when going to pay the bill at that restaurant. I think this sounds like user error.

Looks good - but how much do you weigh now - eating all that?

While it has offered me great discounts, be aware that some restaurants who participate may be financially challenged. Here is Northern California a small chain with three brands just went bankrupt. Be mindful of keeping a high InKind cash balances if you are only interested in a few restaurants.

I tried InKind a while back, on an Amex offer that put cash in my InKind account. I went out to dinner with friends at an InKind restaurant. We always split the bill, but neither I, nor my friends, nor the waiter could figure out how to use InKind to pay only a portion of the check. I tried getting help through the app, selecting the "I'm still at the restaurant" option, but did not receive a response. After waiting for several minutes, I paid my portion of the bill with my credit card and deleted the app. It just wasn't worth the hassle.

the best days of InKind are past. Now, you can't combine a promotion and InKind credit. If you're dining with someone else with InKind and split the bill, the system limits the check to just one promotion. You can try asking for two separate bills from the beginning. It also puts you on the hamster wheel like so much of this game!

Outside of large cities, choices are few and suboptimal. Different platform but same dining vibe, the same is the case with Tock.

There used to be another similiar program called IDINE which like Inkind is a funding source for restaurants in which restaurants pay back loans with dining credits that the company sells.

That still exists - it's the company that does skymiles dining, aadvantage dining, southwest airlines dining, marriott bonvoy dining, etc etc.

It is like the CSR Dining Benefit, never enough restaurants where you need them.
Sometimes you get lucky and use InKind for Dining and tip with Amex Brilliant ($25.00/mo credit). But very few times.
