How to upgrade a parent using own miles?

How to upgrade a parent using own miles?

  1. Alvin | YTHK Diamond

Hi, in April 2017 we’re going to SIN (our family of four), and we have W tickets right now. After a Feb trip I’ll have enough SilverKris points to book myself onto SQ J, but my parents won’t. I’ll feel like a dick if I upgrade myself as much as I want to review the product, so is there a way I can upgrade my dad with my miles?

I think you can do it if you call them. I know for AAdvantage you can call to use miles to upgrade someone else’s ticket, provided there is available upgrade space.
