Ghost flight

According to flightradar24 there is currently (at 20:30EST on 10/28/2015) a United flight UA2260 from EWR to MCI. What is weird is that the plane is a B764. According to the seat map on the United app, only 12 of the 200 or so seats are occupied. So, how come such a nice plane is being flown almost totally empty to Kansas City of all places?

Just figured out what it must be, it’s Mets Royals in the World Series so it must be flying to MCI to pick up one of the teams and fly back to NY tonight.

Yep! Charters on widebodies are common. Pretty cool when it happens. 🙂
