Is there a better way to use miles that I’m missing.
There is a very cheap Spirit flight through FLL that gets in at 1:30 am. Do I even consider that?

That’s peak season to travel, especially somewhere warm.
I’d evaluate if you feel you are more “points-rich” or “cash-rich” and purchase your ticket that way. I don’t anticipate prices dropping anytime soon for Christmas/New Year’s flights, unfortunately…
