Delta flight at Joint Base Andrews?

Delta flight at Joint Base Andrews?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I am looking at Flightradar24 and noticed something odd… a Delta A350 operating what seems to be a roundtrip flight between Detroit and Joint Base Andrews in MD. The flight number is listed as DL 8967. Would anybody know what this flight is for? It seems odd that a “commercial” flight/aircraft would operate to the same military base that Air Force One is based at.

Hi DC – on the surface, this looks like a USG contracted flight. The same flight number was recently used from IAD to JRB (Joint Reserve Base) Carswell in TX then onward to ATL. No idea regarding the whys and wherefores about it, but that is what it appears to be. The military/government does occasionally contract with civilian carriers.
