Cathay flights to Alaska or American

Cathay flights to Alaska or American

  1. Rohit Deshpande Member

Hey, guys so this summer I will have a couple of Cathay flights, and the dilemma is whether I should credit them to my Alaska account or my AAdvantage account. I don’t have status on either (I’m more of a United gold member). So I’m on a full fare economy ticket, no discount. So will I get more of a bonus in Alaska? American? Neither? In my opinion, these are both fantastic FF programs which are why this makes this even tougher. Any suggestions as to where I’d get a better value? I’m anticipating Alaska as the answer, but I want to see what you guys think

I’d recommend you to use wheretocredit.com, to see how much you could earn on each program. As to which are more valuable, it depends really on your travel patterns. Alaska has several partners and relatively well priced awards. Simultaneously, American also has some nice partners, but do remember that redeeming AA miles might be harder nowadays (specially on AA saver awards).
