amex plat and united fee?

amex plat and united fee?

I just received this offer to get upgrade to united silver status www.united/com/status2018
(it looks like anyone can use this) . To do this, I would be charged $199 — do you think this would count toward my amex plat airline credit? If so, I think I will do it, because there are few limited ways to earn back the amex credit. thanks

I can’t get that link to work but if you can tell that the fee is charged directly by United then there’s a good chance it will count.
