Anonymous GuestIf I buy a ticket right now for travel in the second half of this year will I earn mileage under the existing plan (miles flown) or under the new plan (dollars paid)? Just wondering whether or not I should travel before July 1 or after since it could be the difference of 20K redeemable miles earned.

You would earn miles based on whatever program is in operation on the date of your flight. If the new program kicks in before you fly, then you’d be earning under the revenue based program.
AA has yet to release a start date for the new program though.
