As I was reading this, I was trying to determine if I would do this. Depending on the situation, maybe???

I have more than once. Twice by myself – once to a serviceman, once to a disabled person. And once with my daughter (16) who hates flying with me because we get upgraded and she feels embarrassed -so we both gave up our upgraded seats to a husband and wife couple in the military transiting back home from Iraq through Munich to PHL and then LAX. Gave them our upgrades from PHL to LAX. I have no doubt they appreciated First more than I would have, and my daughter was happy because she was spared the (imagined) looks as Groups 3 to 9 board.

There are times when I value my upgrades. But often, as long as I can get a certain seat on an A321 out of PHL – either 10A or 23F, I have no problem sharing.
