Hi, I would like to know if cathay pacific will allow paid upgrades (premium economy to business) at the gate or on board. If so, what is the normal price? Thanks!

It is paid ticket.

In searching the internet I see references to a trial CX ran in 2014 for paid upgrades but not much since then. The FT thread referenced above dates to 2010. So while I can’t say for certain, I wouldn’t count on it.

OK. It seems reasonable. But I just called CX and they said that depending on the availability and marco polo membership, upgrade can be available at the gate. But I am highly interested in the price of upgrade. If it is under 500 dollars I would accept it.
