Amex Offer: Spend $750 With Four Seasons, Get 15K Bonus Points

Filed Under: Amex Offers, Great Deals

A new Amex Offer has just been rolled out for those who like luxury hotels. With this new, targeted Amex Offer, you can earn 15,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after spending $750+ at Four Seasons properties in the US by October 10, 2018.

This promotion is only valid at US Four Seasons properties, and what matters is that you pay for your stay during the promotion period, even if you’re staying on a subsequent date (though most Four Seasons rates aren’t prepaid). The promotion terms also state that gift card purchases aren’t eligible for the promotion (I’m not sure to what degree that will be enforced if you buy them on property).

Personally, I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so to me, 15,000 Membership Rewards points are worth ~$255, meaning you’re getting a bit over a third back in value compared to what you pay.

As usual, these Amex Offers are targeted, and best I can tell only the Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express are targeted for the promotion (and not even all of those cards are). I guess that would be logical targeting in this case since I imagine that’s the type of consumer Four Seasons is going after. I don’t see this offer on any other card, though if someone else does, please let me know.

Four Seasons doesn’t have their own loyalty program (at least not one that’s published), so this is a great way to get rewarded for a Four Seasons stay. Note that you should also be able to book through Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Virtuoso, or Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts while taking advantage of this offer, in order to get free breakfast, a property-specific amenity, a room upgrade, and more.

Four Seasons isn’t my favorite hotel brand in the world, but if you can combine 15,000 Membership Rewards points with Four Seasons Preferred Partner perks, you’re potentially looking at a great deal.

Do you see this Four Seasons Amex Offer on your account, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?

(Tip of the hat to Janeway)

  1. “Four Seasons isn’t my favorite hotel brand in the world”

It is my second favorite (behind Mandarin Oriental). Unfortunately I wasn’t targeted yet.

  2. @ Colin — Generally not, though it depends on the hotel. Some hotels require payments in advance (even for those bookings), though I think most US hotels don’t.

  3. @ Lucky – Thanks. I was thinking I could perhaps work out 3/4th night free deals as well, if one exists, on an upcoming Asia trip.

  4. Noooo, not targeted on PRG or platinum… I wish they had a function where we can transfer these offers to other amex members for those who don’t wish to take advantage of the offer so the ones that do can.

  5. Are you sure this offer will still work if booked through Amex FHR? The terms say “Offer valid only at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in the US. Reservations must be made online at US website or in-person.”

  6. If anyone has knowledge if this is triggered by buying a gift card on location please post. I’m thinking of loading up on gift cards for a future trip. Thanks!

  7. Nota bene:

“ELIGIBLE PURCHASES: Offer valid only at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in the US. Reservations must be made online at US website or in-person. Excludes Four Seasons Gift Cards purchased online. Not valid for Four Seasons eGift Card purchases. Excludes any service or amenity not charged to a room, third party bookings . . .”

I don’t mean to suggest that the offer necessarily WON’T work if booked through a FSPP (I think the bonus points will probably post), just that the offer T&C pretty clearly don’t include such bookings.

  8. @ Chris — The terms state that you have to book directly through Four Seasons, though personally I can’t imagine FHR wouldn’t work in practice. You’re still paying the total amount at check-out, so I’d expect that to work.

  9. I have this on my platinum. Can I use AMEX travel and prepay and get 5x points on spend also???

  10. @Colin — 99% of prepaid rates at Four Seasons are available through preferred partner.

@Ari — Most Preferred partner agents use a portal on the Four Seasons website so it should count as booking online
