World of Hyatt has just opened registration for its first global promotion of 2025. This is the first major promotion that we’ve seen from the program since last spring, so I’m sure many people will be happy to see this.
In this post:
World of Hyatt 2025 global promotion details
Registration is open for World of Hyatt’s Bonus Journeys promotion, which is valid for stays over the coming weeks and months. This promotion will be valid for stays between January 27 and March 28, 2025. With this, you can earn 2x points for qualifying stays at more than 1,600 participating hotels, and 3x points for qualifying stays at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties.
There are some details to be aware of as, you’d expect:
- Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay, and between January 14 and March 10, 2025
- The date range for the promotion is based on checkout dates, so you must complete a stay by March 28, 2025, for it to be eligible
- You can earn a total of up to 30,000 bonus points with this promotion — 20,000 bonus points for the 2x points promotion, and 10,000 bonus points for the 3x points promotion
- The promotion kicks in starting with your first stay
- The promotion is valid not just for Hyatt properties, but also for stays at Mr & Mrs Smith properties, plus stays at The Venetian
- Any stay booked directly with Hyatt qualifies toward the promotion, including stays booked prior to the start of the promotion, as well as award stays (though you wouldn’t get any bonus points for the room rate, but you could earn bonus points on incidentals)
- Points will post within two to three weeks of completing an eligible stays
- Only one room can qualify toward this promotion; so while you can earn points for multiple rooms, you would only earn the bonus based on one room
Crunching the numbers on Hyatt’s promotion
How lucrative is World of Hyatt’s Bonus Journeys promotion? For context, I value World of Hyatt points at ~1.5 cents each. Just to recap World of Hyatt’s regular points earning rates:
- World of Hyatt members ordinarily earn 5x base points per dollar spent at Hyatt properties
- Elite members receive further bonuses — Discoverists earn an extra 0.5x points per dollar spent, Explorists earn an extra 1.0x points per dollar spent, and Globalists earn an extra 1.5x points per dollar spent
- If you pay with a co-brand Hyatt credit card you earn an extra 4x points per dollar spent
So with this promotion, you’d earn an incremental 5x points at most properties, and an incremental 10x points at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties. Based on my valuation of 1.5 cents per point, that’s like an incremental 7.5-15% return on Hyatt spending, which is potentially quite good.
Of course it’s important to keep in mind the caps. With the double points promotion, you’d reach the cap after $4,000 in spending, while with the triple points promotion, you’d reach the cap after $1,000 in spending.
As a World of Hyatt Globalist member paying with a co-branded Hyatt card, you’d ordinarily earn a total of 10.5x points per dollar spent. With this promotion, you’d earn 15.5-20.5x points per dollar spent.

See this post for everything you need to know about earning Hyatt points with credit cards. On top of that, World of Hyatt frequently sells points at a discount.
Also keep in mind other ongoing promotions offered by World of Hyatt:
- You can earn 500 bonus points when you stay at a new Hyatt hotel
- You can earn a free Category 1-4 free night when you stay at new Hyatt brands with the Brand Explorer promotion
- You can maximize value with Hyatt stays by booking through the Hyatt Privé program
Bottom line
World of Hyatt has just opened registration for its first Bonus Journeys promotion of 2025. For stays between January 27 and March 28, members can earn double points at most brands, and triple points at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties.
This is essentially an opportunity to earn an incremental 5-10x points per dollar spent, so that could be quite a good deal. Just keep in mind the cap of only being able to earn up to 30,000 bonus points. This has the potential to be a very good deal, so I’m happy to see another global promotion from the program.
What do you make of the early 2025 World of Hyatt Bonus Journeys promotion?
Does anybody know whether this can be combined with Prive rate, which has to be booked through special agents. I'm reading from some sources that it works?
Thanks!
It definitely should, it's a Hyatt program
Am I mathing different than you?
Double Points Cap: 20,000
20,000 divided by 10 (=5x2) is $2000
Triple Points Cap: 10,000
10,000 divided by 15 (=5x3) is $666
@ PB -- With those numbers, you're including the base points and the bonus points. The caps are on how many bonus points you can earn, not based on how many total points you can earn. So with a double points promotion, you're earning five incremental points per dollar spent.
@ Ben - I have a stay booked from Mar 22-29, would I get to earn the bonus from 22-28?
Since I think it's checkout bonus, not certain. You might want to split the stay?
I have two nights booked in the promotion period. Woohoo!
I have 8 nights booked in the two weeks after it ends. Boooo! Wait, those are booked on points so it doesn't matter. Fingers crossed for a double qualifying nights promotion beginning when this one ends.
Do hyatt prive stays count towards the promotion?
@ RN -- Yes they do!
