Big Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex Card Welcome Offer: 100K Points + Free Night Award

2

The Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card is the primary business card in Marriott’s card portfolio, and it’s quite lucrative, especially if you’re looking to earn elite status. We’ve just seen an excellent new limited time welcome offer rolled out on the card, offering both points and a free night award. In this post I’d like to go over all the details of the offer, as there’s long term value to be had with the card.

What is the current Marriott Bonvoy Business Card welcome offer?

For applications through November 4, 2026, the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex is offering a limited time two part welcome offer where you can earn both bonus points and a free night award.

Specifically, after spending $8,000 within the first six months you can earn 100,000 Bonvoy bonus points plus a free night award worth up to 50,000 points (resort fees and terms apply). As you can tell, this offer is worth a maximum of up to 150,000 points.

For what it’s worth, I value Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each, so I’d value the entire welcome offer at up to $1,050, which is significantly better than the standard offer.

What are the Marriott Bonvoy Business Card eligibility rules?

If you’re applying for the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex, the general Amex application restrictions apply. For example, you’re typically limited to having a total of five Amex credit cards (not including hybrid cards), regardless of whether they’re personal or business, and there’s also the “once in a lifetime” rule.

The good news is that I find Amex business cards to anecdotally be pretty easy to get approved for. Another awesome thing is that if you’re concerned about Chase’s 5/24 limit, applying for an Amex business card won’t count toward that limit.

Beyond that, since both American Express and Chase issue cards for Marriott, there are some pretty complicated restrictions regarding eligibility for this card, so see this post for more details. The good news is that Amex typically has an application pop-up in the event that you apply and aren’t eligible for the welcome offer, so you’ll know before there’s a hard pull to your credit.

Is the Marriott Bonvoy Business Card worth it?

Not only does the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex have a generous welcome offer, but this is a card that’s worth keeping in the long run. It’s a card I’ve had for years, and plan to continue to hold onto. The card has a $125 annual fee (Rates & Fees), and for that you receive two key perks:

To me that more than justifies the annual fee, and that doesn’t even factor in some of the other perks, like complimentary Marriott Bonvoy® Gold Elite Status.

The annual free night cert is nearly worthless. Even 50k cert yough to use at any remotely appealing property..

Will getting an Amex business card ruin your chances of getting a personal card? FWIW I only have 1 Amex card (as an authorized user). I've never had close to 5 Amex cards and have excellent credit but I've been in 'Amex jail' before time to time but never a rejection.
