Reality bites. After a most enjoyable Thai Airways flight we found ourselves in what I usually consider to be hell on earth, more commonly known as Charles de Gaulle. Except this time it wasn't actually that bad. We had a long layover due to the lack of award availability between Paris and Munich, so had…

ich liebe münchen, so much. Weisswurst for the win!

One thing I hated about traveling France Germany was that the terminal for lufthansa was tiny, terminal 1. oh and that hike on those rolling platforms that go up and down. I always slid a little, right before that I (women?) <3 italian shoes advert.

Great TR as always.
I hate those newer seat on LH. No padding no legroom, and no more wider seat (with armrest that are pushed into the blocked middle seats) I mean those seats scare me, at this rate the saddle seat is not too far...

@Jamison - I know they are common place in DE, but you think he snuck that in there on purpose !? Would he have done the same if it was a VW ?

Ha, Ha...

"he wants a shower and I want a pony" -- maybe you'd like to rephrase that to prevent any more of your English readers spluttering coffee over their keyboards... 😉

@ Jamison @ Derek -- Hah, it was 22 Euros per day, the cheapest car! Trust me, not trying to show off there.

@ IMH -- Okay, I've checked Urban Dictionary and I'm still clueless. Pray tell!

Goodness, you had amazing luck at CDG!

Thanks for the photos of MUC and description of landing -- I'm flying in there next week and didn't know how much time to budget for collecting baggage and getting to the train station. Had forgotten how big it is.

@ Lucky -- I'm showing my age (and probably wouldn't have read your sentence the way I did if the topic hadn't already drifted in the direction of bathroom facilities):

I love Berchtesgaden (and Koenigssee)too. Been going there on and off since 1981. Was there last February for 10 days, partly to watch bobsledding at track in Koenigssee. Great things to see/do in the area, hiking, skiing in winter and more.

Mate, I'm not sure I agree with your seat pitch estimation.

I flew those slimline Recaro seats last week on two separate flights on an A319 and an A320, and reviewed them over at Australian Business Traveller (which, disclaimer: I work for) -- http://www.ausbt.com.au/photo-tour-do-slimline-economy-seats-deserve-the-extra-legroom-hype

I realise you don't fly Y much (*grin*) but I fly 30" Y pretty regularly on account of living in New Zealand (the Land of the Long White No Damn Business Class) and those LH Recaro Y seats are at least 33"/34", on a par with the amount of legroom in intercontinental MH or KE Y, or AA's old More Room In Coach pitch.

(BTW, I share your love of Berchtesgaden, but for me you can't beat Salzburg if you're down that end of Bavaria.)
