Club Carlson Is Offering 2,500 Bonus United Miles Per Stay

Club Carlson has just announced an extremely generous promotion for earning bonus United miles for upcoming stays. Club Carlson members who register by December 18, 2017, and book and complete an eligible stay at a participating hotel by December 31, 2017, can earn up to 5,000 bonus United miles. Members can earn 2,500 bonus United miles for their first stay, and an additional 2,500 bonus miles for their second stay. The promotion is capped at 5,000 bonus miles per member.

When you register you’ll be asked for your Club Carlson number, United MileagePlus number, and country of residence. Stays at Radisson Blu, Radisson, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, and Park Inn by Radisson are considered eligible. I don’t see any restrictions as to what regions you have to stay in, so I think a stay anywhere in the world should qualify. Bonus miles should post 4-6 weeks after December 31, 2017.

The great thing is that this bonus is in addition to the Gold Points you usually earn for your stay, so you don’t even have to choose miles in lieu of the usual points. You also don’t have to provide your MileagePlus number at check-in — just by registering for the promotion you should be good to go.

There are tons of eligible properties that retail for under $100 per night. If you value United miles at ~1.3 cents each, then the 2,500 bonus miles you earn for a stay are worth ~$33, which is a significant return.

Club Carlson members ordinarily earn 20 points per dollar spent, and Gold members (status that you automatically get with their credit card) earn a 35% points bonus, for a total of 27 Gold Points per dollar spent. That’s in addition to the United bonus here.

Unfortunately at the moment Club Carlson doesn’t have another global promotion, as they had in the summer. With that promotion you could choose between a free stay on a Friday, or 10,000 Gold Points, after every two stays. There’s no such promotion at the moment.

Bottom line

I doubt one could make this a true “mattress run,” but this is an opportunity to score great value on a Club Carlson stay, especially if you’re staying for just one night at one of their cheaper properties. Earning 2,500 United miles plus 20-27 Gold Points per dollar spent is an excellent return.

Do you plan on taking advantage of this Club Carlson & United promotion?

  1. Hi, Lucky,

If making 2 reservations and use with 2x 100USD E-Certificate for the same night, does it count as 2 eligible stays?
