For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

We somewhat frequently see Amex Offers for discounts on hotel stays. Often they’re for Hilton and Marriott, since Amex issues co-brand credit cards for those companies. However, at the moment we’re seeing a new offer for a brand where you don’t often see discounts.

At the moment there’s a new targeted Amex Offer for 15,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend $750+ with Four Seasons. The offer is valid for stays through September 16, 2019.

There’s probably also a version out there for a $150 statement credit when you spend $750, though I’d definitely prefer the 15,000 bonus points, since I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each. The way I view it, that’s like a $255 return on $750 of spending with Four Seasons, which is a return of over one third.

Do be aware of the following terms:

  • Valid for Four Seasons properties in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Anguilla and Saint Kitts and Nevis
  • Valid for Four Seasons Private Retreats Collection of luxury home rentals in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Anguilla and Saint Kitts and Nevis
  • Valid for reservations made through
  • Excludes gift card purchases online, as well as Four Seasons eGift Card purchases
  • Not valid on third party bookings, Four Seasons Private Jet, the Four Seasons Beds, Four Seasons Magazine subscriptions, and other amenities
  • You just have to spend $750+ cumulatively, so you could spend that across multiple stays

While you have to book direct, a Four Seasons Preferred Partner booking should qualify (and if you are booking a Four Seasons hotel, you absolutely should be booking through the Preferred Partner program, as this gets you extra amenities like breakfast, a space available room upgrade, and more).

Bottom line

Four Seasons hotels aren’t exactly cheap, so being able to score 15,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when spending $750+ is an awesome return. Hopefully lots of you can take advantage of this.

  1. Hey thanks. I had the Marriott offer on my Bonvoy card (and had already redeemed this once) Will definitely use. And the FS offer on my Platinum (nothing planned but good to have just in case)

  2. Great offer, but unless you’ve confirmed with AMEX, it seems more likely that FS Preferred Partner bookings DO NOT qualify for this offer.

Preferred Partners are travel agents. They may be “preferred” travel agents with in the mind of FS, but they are still a third-party.

  3. @ jason — You pay for a Preferred Partner reservation the same way as any other stay. It’s billed directly by the hotel, and you usually pay when you get there. The third party restriction is primarily for situations where you’re paying another company for your stay.

  4. As for FHR the offer won‘t work if you choose to prepaid the rates (in order to get the 5x MR points), as you will be billed by Amex Travel instead of Four Season. But for the non-prepaid option you should be good to go with the offer.

  5. @ Nick — If it’s charged to your folio it should account. The terms say that some third party spend might not qualify, so I can’t guarantee everything will. But I suspect at least most things will.

  6. Ben, FSPP rates are indeed paid at the time of stay to the hotel, but a meaningful commission is paid by Four Seasons to the agent that books the reservation–that’s the reason I suggest that the terms requiring booking online or “in person” for this promo may be more restrictive than you imply. Would love to hear confirmation from Amex that agency bookings qualify though!

  7. The last time Amex had this offer, I went to my local Four Seasons and bought two gift cards, and that qualified me for the 15k points.

  8. Anyone think this will work with physical gift cards, if they sell them? I have a stay in November, be fine buy a gift card now to offset that cost.

  9. I had a stay with a FSPP this past week. Got an email after check-in from AMEX saying I used my deal. So yes, I will be getting the 15K credit.
