134-Room Rosewood Amsterdam Opening June 2025

134-Room Rosewood Amsterdam Opening June 2025

Fast growing luxury hotel group Rosewood is doing an impressive job expanding its presence in major European cities. The company has just opened reservations for its new Amsterdam property, which will likely become the city’s best hotel.

Basics of the Rosewood Amsterdam

The Rosewood Amsterdam is now accepting reservations for stays as of June 1, 2025. This will be the brand’s first property in the Netherlands, and it complements the existing European portfolio, with properties in London, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Salzburg, Tuscany, and Vienna.

The 134-key Rosewood Amsterdam will be located along the Prinsengracht, in the city’s historic canal district. It’ll be located in the former Palace of Justice, which has an incredible amount of history, having first been built in 1665. It served as the Palace of Justice for nearly 200 years, and has now undergone quite the transformation.

Some of the exact details about the property remain to be seen, but it’s expected to include an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge, and a bar. There will also be an Asaya Spa, with an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and more.

Entry level accommodations at the Rosewood Amsterdam start at 35 square meters (377 square feet), and suites start at 53 square meters (570 square feet). Many accommodations also have canal views.

If this hotel is as good as it sounds, it’ll likely become the city’s top address. Currently the Waldorf Astoria is considered by most to be the city’s top property. It’s always nice when a points hotel is also the best in a city, so that’s a treat.

The Conservatorium Hotel is probably in the same league, and that property is expected to be converted into a Mandarin Oriental. Then there are several properties that are also very good, but not quite to the same level, like the Pulitzer Amsterdam.

Rosewood Amsterdam rates & how to book

What are rates like at the Rosewood Amsterdam? Luxury hotel pricing has of course increased considerably in recent years, and that’s especially true for luxury properties in major European cities.

The hotel currently starts at around €800 per night, though in peak season (summer), base rooms sometimes go for €1,200 per night. That’s roughly what you’d expect. Thanks to an opening offer, you can receive a €100 property credit if booking a room, or a €200 property credit if booking a suite.

When it comes to looking up rates, I appreciate that Rosewood’s website has a rate calendar, allowing you to easily compare costs for months at a time.

You’re best off booking Rosewood properties through a Rosewood Elite travel advisor, as that’s typically going to be the best deal, as it stacks with whatever promotions are being offered directly online. This won’t cost you anything extra, and a Rosewood Elite agent will be able to add extra perks for your stay. What value can a Rosewood Elite travel advisor add?

  • Daily breakfast for up to two people per bedroom
  • Complimentary one-category room upgrade upon arrival (based on availability)
  • A welcome amenity and note
  • Additional property specific elite enhanced amenities, which vary by property; these may include a $100 credit per stay

A couple of further things to note:

  • Rosewood Elite perks can be combined with whatever promotion Rosewood is offering on its website directly, including the opening offer
  • Booking through Rosewood Elite is better than booking through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, because upgrades are prioritized through Rosewood’s own proprietary program

Bottom line

The Rosewood Amsterdam is opening as of June 2025, marking the brand’s first property in the Netherlands. Amsterdam has so much history, so it’s pretty awesome how this hotel is opening in the former Palace of Justice. I look forward to learning more details about the property closer to opening, like the planned restaurants, and seeing more pictures.

What do you make of the Rosewood Amsterdam?
