Looks like a great option for Amsterdam. I enjoy some of the canal house amalgamations that have been combined to create hotels but the room layouts can be wonky as a result so the building structure may help with more standard layouts as well (though all retrofits still have drawbacks).
The pricing seems quite reasonable for a luxury hotel in a city nowadays. I can't justify $1500+ pricing for city hotels usually but the $600-900 range is doable. Obviously that's a personal evaluation.
Really excited to see it finally opening. Its long overdue/needed for Amsterdam. I think it will be impossible to pick the "best" since the WA is a truly special property - and I say that as someone who is not a big fan of the brand. All others, including Conservatorium, are certainly a tier below but are very good and have their loyal guests.
Is the 4th night promotion stackable with the citi prestige 4th night benefit?
Best is subjective, but I always thought the Hotel TwentySeven was the best in Amsterdam (with a pretty much unbeatable location on Dam Square). The new Rosewood seems like a great new option, though.
Having stayed at the Waldorf you couldn’t pay me enough to make me stay there again. And their rates are ridiculous
This does sound nice, but it will be hard to beat The Pulitzer Amsterdam which is also directly on the Prinsengracht. We just stayed there in April for three nights, and had an enormous picture window and two smaller ones overlooking the canal. So lovely! We were right at the front of the hotel in Prinsengracht 331--"The Mustard Jar"--and there was a posting in the room with the history of the building. Ate both in Jansz and The Pulitzer Garden and really enjoyed both.
We also went to high tea at the Waldorf Astoria. The tea was lovely, with exquisitely crafted treats and tea pairings, one for the savory items and one for the sweet items!
I think it's hard to go wrong with any of these choices in Amsterdam!
